Economical Vacation Destinations: Beatty, Nevada

You do not have to spend a lot of money to get a lot of fun. There are many places that go unnoticed and yet have something special that makes for an enjoyable time. Because they are not number one on most vacation lists, they are less crowded as well as being economical and budget friendly.

The biggest tourist draw in Nevada is gambling and the major resort cities like Las Vegas and Reno get the bulk of the action, but gambling is allowed in the whole state, in places like Beatty.

The town of Beatty, Nevada is 120 miles northwest of Las Vegas and just 8 miles from Death Valley National Park. It is right off of route 95, making it easy to get to. A vacation that combines staying in Beatty and enjoying what the town has to offer and trips to Death Valley gives you enough to do to keep everyone busy for as long as you visit

Accommodations in Beatty, Nevada are varied. You can choose from 6 different camp grounds and RV parks. It is possible to camp in Death Valley itself, but the temperatures are much more comfortable in Beatty. Other choices include The Stagecoach Hotel and Casino where they have 48 rooms and are adding on another 32. This means one thing. Beatty is doing things the right way. People are coming back and telling others about their experience. They also have 21 games tables and an on site café. There are also motels such as the Motel 6 where rooms can go for a little as $53 a night.

As for the attractions, there is Scotty's Castle, Ballarat Ghost Town , Shoshone Museum , and Bonnie Springs Ranch-a replica of an 1880's mining town built where you can see a rodeo or a wild west show.

As you can see, Beatty does not try to be a miniature Las Vegas. The attractions and the lifestyle are more laid back and relaxed, nothing formal. Beatty is a place where you can enjoy nature and learn about the history of the old gold mining towns that thrived back in the 1800's. While Beatty is not close enough to Las Vegas for you to make a day trip, it is close enough so you can spend part of your vacation in each place. This way, you can get both experiences and your overall cost will be less than it would be if you spent all of the time in Las Vegas.
