Economically Friendly Coke Bottle: Design Promises to Increase Recycling

Coca Cola should be commended for their efforts to become a more green company. They have listened to their consumers and looked into ways in which they can become earth friendly. Coca Cola (Coke) has done this through making their carbon footprint by creating smaller soda caps, recyclable bottles, and always changing their production techniques to be more earth friendly. A large group has been organized to push Coca Cola to become even more earth friendly through the design of Andrew Kim and his vision of a cardboard shaped Coke world.

Kim has managed to create a Coke bottle that has a cap that is 25% slimmer than what you see on Coca Cola's current 20oz soda bottles. He has also created a planet friendly bottle that is 100% recyclable and even biodegradable through being made 100% by plants. This is done by creating the bottle through 100% cane sugar can byproducts. Techniques like this are being incorporated by many companies that wish to become more earth friendly as well.

What is cool about Kim's design is the actual design and shape of the the Coke bottles. He has created the bottle to look sleek and sexy in a squarish type of way. All you have to do is view the picture attached to this article to see his design. The best part of the design besides being earth friendly is that it can be easily stacked. The ability to stack the bottle allows it to be easily displayed in a variety of different ways.

It should also be mentioned that the bottle has been created with the ability to be easily collapsible. The reasoning behind this is that a lot of consumers do not recycle because of the bulky nature of current bottles. Kim has designed it so that you can collapse the soda bottle and be able to recycle much more easy. The ability to collapse the bottle allows consumers to store more bottles in a bag for recycling purposes.

The large group backed by Kim plans to send all of their designs to Coca Cola with the goal of influencing them to adopt his concepts. They are not asking the company to change their whole product line to adopt the concept. However, they are hoping that the company can make this an alternative offering to consumers who want to be earth friendly. It will be interesting to see how the company reacts. Stay tuned here to receive updates on this attempt to make Coca Cola more earth friendly.
