Fear surrounds us, but what we are doing is hurting us more. I definitely understand that you want to hold on to every penny you have. To not want to let go of what we do have left. Now, don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with being frugal in the midst of the economic crisis, but if we really want to help the economy, we have to put into the economy. So why, would I be sitting here telling you to spend what money you have not lost? Because if you want to get it back, you have to put into it.
What can we do in this struggling economy? How can we, the people, fix what's wrong? Is there anything at all we can do? Of course there is. And the answer is simple. SHOP.
We, as consumers, are the only ones who can heal America. Not the government, not President Obama, not the legislatures. US. The more money we put into the economy, the better the economy is. The money we spend in stores is what is going to get us through this hard time. Look at what is not closing down...grocery stores, gas stations, and multi-purpose stores, like Wal Mart or Target. Necessities are being shopped for. Now is the best time to go out and get a deal. Prices are at an all time low. Go ahead and go on vacation. Don't stop doing what you were doing a year ago.
Do remember not to get greedy. That is what got us into this in the first place. Too many of us living beyond our means and getting into houses or cars that we couldn't really afford. You can still have the things you want, just be smart about it.
I do realize, too, that there has been significant job losses across this great nation, but there are still jobs out there. You may have to take a severe pay cut, but there are jobs. And a low paying job is better than no job at all.
One thing everyone needs to realize is that if we do not get the economy markedly improved by the end of the year, we stand in line to become the next nation using the Euro. Then America being a world power will be over. We don't need help from anyone but ourselves. Lets stop depending on someone to "bail" us out. We can fix the economy, we just have to stand up for ourselves, like Americans always have, and get it done.
Oh, and one more thing...when you do buy, BUY AMERICAN!!
