Eddie Bauer Teddy Bear Night Light for Your Baby's Room

I purchased the Eddie Bauer Teddy Bear Night Light online from Babies R Us to compliment my baby's room. The reason I choose this over all the other night lights out there was because it looked classic and cute. I didn't really have a theme for my room, so I just wanted something cute. I thought I couldn't go wrong with something carrying the "Eddie Bauer" logo, however I was mistaken.

The Eddie Bauer Teddy Bear Night Light is cute. It consist of two 3D bears coming out of a square backdrop with a little bee flying around the top. It's larger than it appears online so you can clearly see the two bears sitting on the square brown background. The colors are all shades of brown so it will work with almost any color scheme you have going on. The neutral color was one of the reasons I bought it since at the time I didn't know what colors I was going to paint the room.

When lit up in the dark, a soft glow comes through the image and makes the bears stand out and look even more 3D. When not lit up, it looks like a cute wall hanging.

The Eddie Bauer Teddy Bear Night Light isn't cheap plastic. Instead it's kind of heavy and the square itself is very sturdy. It slides unto the light part of the night light easily, but that also means it could come off easily if your kids were playing with it.

The Eddie Bauer Teddy Bear Night Light is light sensitive meaning it's supposed to come on when it's dark in the room. The product claims this helps to conserve energy. Herein lies what I found out to be the major flaw of the product. Even with my drapes wide open, the lights on in the bedroom, and the sun coming in, this night light still lights up. I believe this is because the Square comes out over the sensor and therefore makes it hard to really sense the light is on.

I was disappointed to find that this night light does not have any sort of off switch. It is purely a light sensitive night light - which means the only way to really turn it off is to unplug it.

The Eddie Bauer Teddy Bear Night Light is expensive considering the major flaw it has. For $13 at least I can say it is a very solid design and looks great. However they should have put a little more thought into turning it off, or made the sensor more sensitive. I am still going to keep and use this night light because it is cute, but I have already learned that I have to constantly unplug it in order to save the light bulb from dying too quickly.
