Eddy Curry Sued for Sexual Harassment by David Kuchinsky

Heather K. Adams
Eddy Curry, the 6'11" center for the New York Knicks, is being sued by his former driver, David Kuchinsky, of various wrong-doings, including withholding wages, and racial and sexual harassment.

According to King5.com, Eddy Curry, 26, used several racial slurs when addressing David Kuchinsky, including calling him a "cracker" and a "white slave". Also, as reported on King5.com, Kuchinsky's attorney claims a nude Eddy Curry would often approach David Kuchinsky, asking Kuchinsky to view and touch his naked body.

Eddy Curry denies these allegations. According to USA Today, not only does Curry deny the allegations, he is "shocked" by them. Curry's lawyer, Kelly Saindon, was quoted by USA Today as saying, "It's shocking that Eddy opened his home to a convicted felon out of prison, and gave him a job when he couldn't find a job, and this is what comes out of it."

Saindon is calling Kuchinsky's lawsuit a case of extortion.

According to reports on NYPost.com, Curry's lawyer states David Kuchinsky has a criminal record, which includes serving three years in prison for a 1992 burglary in New Jersey.

David Kuchinsky was employed by Eddy Curry from 2005 - 2008.

Sexual Harassment not new for Knicks

Sexual harassment lawsuits are nothing new for the NBA, specifically for the New York Knicks. Former executive for the New York Knicks, Anucha Browne Sanders, brought forth a $10 million lawsuit against the Knicks' general manager, Isiah Thomas, in 2007. Anucha Browne Sanders claimed Isiah Thomas sexually harassed her, and when she reported it to Madison Square Garden officials, she was relieved of duty, as reported by NYDailyNews.com on Sept. 12, 2007. Anucha Browne Sanders' lawsuit was settled.

Other sexual misconduct in the NBA

Perhaps the most infamous sexual harassment or assault charge was in 2003 when LA Lakers' Kobe Bryant was accused of raping a 19-year-old woman. The rape charges were dismissed in court in 2004 after prosecutors stated the woman was unwilling to participate in the trial.
