Edgewater Community Council is Seeking Volunteers

Almost everyone I know in the volunteer community has, at one time or another, volunteered for the Greater Chicago Food Depository, either directly or indirectly. I have done both.

The Edgewater Community Council, or ECC, located at 6044 North Broadway in Chicago's Edgewater neighborhood, has available volunteer opportunities that include their "Care For Real" program. When I volunteered there, I actually helped with their clothing assistance program at the facility on Broadway, but I've also volunteered at the Depository on behalf of the ECC.

If you want to volunteer for the "Care For Real" program, you will need to attend the committee meetings which are held on the second Wednesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. and they are held at the Edgewater Community Council offices on Broadway.

Sometimes you will be working to help supply food to the community, and other times will be spent supplying clothing to the community. Other volunteer opportunities include working on the Housing Committee, Planning and Development and helping beautify the Edgewater community.
