It's time for monsters and ghost.
Is there a Halloween party planned?
Are you going to be the host?
Whether you're planning a Halloween party for school, home or church, you'll no doubt be searching for both Halloween party crafts and Halloween party snacks. These edible Halloween party crafts are both. You'll be serving up a fun activity and healthy snacks too.
Depending on the age, number and ability of kids at your Halloween party, you can either provide cutting boards and knives or precut the fruits and vegetables and allow your guest to assemble their own edible Halloween crafts.
Once you have some fruits and vegetables and dip, all you need is a little imagination and there are an infinite number of Halloween party snacks you can create.
Edible Monsters Halloween Party Crafts
For the edible monster shown in photograph one we used:
A slice of squash for the monster's head
Kiwi bits for the eye brows (The fuzzy skin of a kiwi is perfect for eyebrows or mustaches.)
A piece of yellow pepper cut from the hump on the bottom for the nose.
Two grape tomato halves for eyes
A slice of kiwi, green side up, for the mouth
Obviously there are tons of ideas for substitutions. You could also use:
Apple slices for the monster's head
Pretzel sticks for eyebrows
Black olives for the eyes
A halved grape for the nose
A strawberry slice for the mouth
The clincher here was writing BOO across the plate in veggie dip.
Edible Owls Halloween Party Crafts
Whoooo could resist these cute edible owls in photo two? For edible owls we used:
Slices of baby carrots to create a feathered body
Kiwi slices for the perfect owl eyes
Pretzels sticks for owl claws and a branch
The edible owls were a real hit at our party as many kids like carrot sticks and pretzels. Many of our guests had never tried kiwi slices before. The verdict? Four out five liked the kiwi. What a treat to provide a fun Halloween party craft and let kids try new healthy foods at the same time.
Once you give kids an inspiration and some edible craft materials, their imaginations will take it from there. See photo three for how one of our very creative party guest created a BOO! monster using fruits, vegetables, pretzels, raisins and dressing. Find more Halloween Party Food ideas by this author here.
