Editorial and an Haiku (for Those Having Withdrawal Symptoms or Hypo-haikuitis

Deonils
The autumn weather in these northern temperate zones is sending us a message, and it has been loud and clear this week. Temperatures fell to 40 degrees F, and below in areas of higher elevation. Siome snow was reported in parts of the US bordering Canada. I am taking this relay of seasons in stride. I feel refreshed, although I am spending more time with my books (midterms, etc).

Next week will bring 60 degrees F and higher. If some are worried about less hours of sunlight (and SAD: seasonal affective disorders) I can emphathise. There are certain light bulbs that mimic the intensity if sunlight for those who wish to avoid depression because of less light these months. Of course, there is HOME DEPOT that will invariably have helpful reps who can advise you about the variety of bulbs you might try. Or the physician you visit may offer related advice. Having said that, a lot can be done for our health by keeping positive and acknowledging that change is the meaning of earthly existence. Change can be embraced ... and often ought to be. In this context we might think of those without warm shelters, or warm clothing, coffee, tea and beverages that make the season festive for us (or tolerable, as the case may be)!

Please take an umbrella and walk in the drizzle now and then. I did last night and after 45 minutes was able to work till 1am. usually I am in bed by 10.30 PM and up by 5.30am. Here is the happy haiku I promised ...

I need sunshine - we have had clouds and rain for the last month...enough!

Should say "egrets" not "egreta" and "kinds" instead of "kids". Maybe a sign to slow down a bit?

Love the message and the haiku. Herons and egreta are my favorite birds. Something very peaceful about them. So cool that you make your own spider for the web! These are the only kids of crafts I am any good at too!:) I think you asked how the web was made? It is just a piece of black paper cut into thin strips and glued onto a paper plate. I double cheked my directions and it does talk about it, but it never hurts to double check. I have a "mummy" craft coming up too, I hope soon. Thanks for your kind comments! Peace to you, Tina

Walking in the rain is wonderful therapy. Like your Haiku.TX for that too.

I have a special light for SAD, but I knocked it over and now it doesn't work. I'll just have to take your advice. Blessings!

I usually do this with my dog. The trick is to notice the world around you and understand that it is bigger than you are, then enjoy it.

this helps to soothe seasonal affective disorders ;-)
