Edo is a very clean, bright restaurant with ample seating and easy parking. We went as a family since even the grand boys like Sushi. I had a tempura style Ahi crunch that was fantastic. It's a special roll with mayo, masago inside and a tuna topping plus avocado and sweet sauce. This was $8.95. My daughter got Las Vegas roll it was Salmon, Crab, cream cheese in a tempura fried batter with sweet sauce. The boys went a la carte and also had some of our food. Unfortunately the restaurant had an odd smell, the food wsa less than spectacular, the eel sauce was very odd in taste and we were rather disappointed..
I'm not a big Sushi eater because I don't eat rice but there were plenty of items to choose from without rice. This was a nice plus since this way we could all get something we liked. I split a s grilled shrimp with my daughter done in Teriyaki stye. That was perfectly good. We started with some Thom Kha Gai. This is a Thai coconut soup with chicken, galangaal, mushroom, lemon grass, cilantro, lime juice and spices. It was spectacular. Each ingredient was recognizable, not one ingredeint overwhelmed the other. All the flavors were delicate and created a little party in your mouth . My son in law has been to Viet Nam so he chose items he knew I would appreciate. If you don't have a personal guide the waiters are very patient and will take time to help you pick out foods you'll enjoy. They are also very accepting of children.
If you're familiar with and fond of Thai foods they have many Thai specials served with steamed rice, fried rice or brown rice. The last three are $2.00 additional. You can get several different curry meals, Yellow or Red Curry in Chicken or Beef with rice sauces like karee. There is Shrimp or Chicken Basil, Basil Snapper or Shrimp Pad Thai. These run from $11.95 to the most expensive at $16.95 , the Basil Snapper in chili brown sauce. The Thai food was good not spectacular but certainly good. The Sushi bowls were very pretty, very unusual. The menu is lovely, great photographs but on the negative side the food is pricey.
You can order a la carte. This can add up quickly but if you aren't on a budget you can order from that area of the menu and get Sushi or Sashimi in 2 piece or 3 piece portions for between $2.00 (Quail egg) to $5.00 (Tuna , Yellow Tail, Ikura, Eel Sashimi).
If you want to try it for lunch before commiting to a dinner they offer special lunch combos. This would probably be a very good idea. There are Sushi combos with 4 pieces of tuna roll and 5 pieces of chef's choice sushi for $8.95. Lunch can be Chicken or Beef Teriyaki, Sushi or Pad Thai Combo, 4 pieces of Sushi (Chef's choice)with Chicken Pad Thai for $9.95 or a Tempura Combo for $8.95 that includes an entire chicken breast or New York Strip steak with Teriyaki Sauce. That's a real large meal you could split with someone else or doggy bag part of. All of these would be ample for two people for a lunch meal. Food is a very personal thing so what we found less than amazing you might actually find delicious.
Edo is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner. They deliver dinner only in limited areas and the minimal order has to be $15.00. They take Master Card and Visa. No personal checks. The parking is ample and the location is in a nice shoppipng area..
No one rushed us through the meal, hot towels were brought to steam your hands, the presentation ws lovely, the service was very attentive. I can't think of a single problem area as far asthat goes. This restaurant/take out is new and the popularity of this style of food and the wonderful service may outweigh the iffy tastes and odd smell so I wouldn't give it a complete negative in a review but I would say approach with caution and try lunch first. There's always the chance we ate there on an off day. .
