Eduard Albert "Billy" Meier: Prophet or Crazy Man

Charles B Reynolds
"Billy" Eduard Albert Meier was born on February 3, 1937, in Bülach/Zurich, Switzerland. When he was five years old, Meier claimed he had his first extraterrestrial contact with an alien (an extraterrestrial human) named Sfath. He describes the Plejaren (aliens from the Pleiades) as humanoid. He also, later, refers to these people as Errans, as their home world is said to be named Erra. This contact lasted until 1953, about eleven years. For the next eleven years, his alien contacts were with an extraterrestrial woman named Asket, from 1953 to 1964.

He joined the French Foreign Legion while in his teens, but soon left the services to travel the world on a spiritual journey, visiting about 42 countries during that time. He lost his left arm, in a bus accident in Turkey in 1965. In 1966 he met and married Kalliope, a Greek woman, and they had three children.

There was an eleven year silence from his alien contacts until he was once more contacted by an extraterrestrial woman named Semjase, who was the granddaughter of Sfath. This began on January 28, 1975.. This would be the beginning of Meier's "official" contact with the aliens as it is when he began receiving some physical and informational evidence that he would "share" with the world. Also at this time, he would have both face to face communication and telepathic communiqués as well, from a group of aliens. Some of the names given were Ptaah, Semjase, Quetzal, and Pleija.

During a radio interview for Swiss International, Meier related a story of how an American friend noted his style of cowboy dress had nicknamed him Billy the Kid. The moniker of "Billy" Meier stuck.

As odd as all this seems, Meier is one of the most debated and controversial figures in Ufology today. The aliens that Meier says he is in contact with are reportedly not only from a distant star system, but from an alternate timeline, about a fraction of a second off from our own unique time.

Meier claims these Plejaren have offered him an interesting sampling of evidence than are often available from most alien or UFO encounters. These include highly detailed photography, videos, multi-toned sound recordings, the temporary use of a weapon which he employed for trial on a nearby tree, and metal alloy samples.

Both debunkers and people within the UFO community (such as Stanton Friedman and Jacques Vallée) have reviewed his photos and videos, and decried them as fraudulent. Proponents of Meier and his encounters, such as Michael Horn (who represents Meier in the United States) offer up the fact that Meier is a one armed man, not skilled in special effects and uses both equipment and reproduction services (his local camera shop) that do not suggest an availability of fraud.

The metal alloys presented to Meier were given to Wendelle Stevens who then had them tested by chemist Marcel Vogel. Vogel said that in his view the samples could not have been made by means of contemporary earthly metallurgy and seemed to have been produced through cold fusion. Vogel also stated that the metal, conveniently, vanished from the IBM laboratory not long after his work was completed. This prevented other scientists from performing their own analyses on it and led to much skepticism as to the validity of the testing and even the existence of the alloy samples themselves.

Other reports concerning Meier's claims of photographic evidence show an aerial view of San Francisco, which Meier claims were taken in the future when the aliens took him for a ride in their craft. He says that the destruction visible in the photos was from a 9.0 earthquake off the coast of Oregon that also resulted in a tsunami that washed inland past Portland. Some "officials" that Horn claims examined the pictures state that it had to be from the future (the photos were taken in the late 1970's) because the "windshields came up more toward the roof of the cars and that there were no rear view mirrors."

Some of Meier's more controversial items in his accounts are his prophecies and predictions of the future.

Meier claimed that World War III would begin in November of 2006. When it did not, he claimed that this was just a prophecy and could be affected by outside events. He later revised the start of WW III to November of 2008. When, again, this did not occur, he revised it to say that in 2009, seven world leaders would die and that this would announce that WW III would begin in two years.

Although this causes naysayers arguments as to Meier's truth, the following passage from Meier's Prophecy letter to Europe and the world in 1958 seems all too eerily accurate.

"Sectarianism will bear bad fruit and will cost many lives through murder and suicide as, also through politics and power lust, in diverse countries, hundreds of thousands of people will be murdered as in the Soviet Union which will be dissolved no later than 1991, and in East Germany which will, however, only exist until the late 80's of this century, thereafter Germany will be reunified, whereby, in contrast, in Iraq a war will be led through the United States of America, through their country's president, however this will be without success, for which reason one of his sons, who will likewise be the U.S.A's head of power, will, in the third millennium, unleash a second war in Iraq which will ultimately lead to an unbelievable disaster and to torturing as well as to mass murder through U.S. armed forces and the rebellious. "

Another hauntingly accurate prediction in the same letter speaks of an epidemic which he names, some twenty years before it is even recognized. "Because of unrestricted prostitution, in about twenty-five years an already embryonic deadly epidemic will develop worldwide that will be named AIDS and will finally cost several hundred million human lives." He later mentions that there would be illnesses that come from Africa and other countries for which there would be no cure.

In this letter Meier also predicted the establishment of a European Union in 1993, which was formed as of the signing of the Treaty of Maastricht on November 1, 1993. He spoke of maladministration of companies, million dollar payouts, "golden handshakes" as he called them, and whole countries going bankrupt. He spoke of "radical skinheads" and "neo-Nazi" groups. He also writes of fanatical Islamists and suicide Palestinian bombers.

Meier also speaks of "simple citizens will carry a pocket telephone with them" within the next forty years (which would place this time frame around 1998). And in a most chillingly account he writes "Towards the end of the Second Millennium researches will clone animals and alter their genes any way they like . . . " He also goes on to say ". . . and in the Third Millennium researchers will have the audacity to create in vitro humans who are intended to serve as human spare parts stores for organs."

Other claims by Meier have serious religious implications. Meier claims to have found a manuscript by a Prophet he names Jmmanuel. He claims that the aliens took him back in time to meet for four days with this ancient prophet. Where most religious people have a problem with this is that Meier claims this was the man named Jesus, that he was a prophet and not the son of God and that he was the reincarnation of the original alien prophet. Meier claims this reincarnation was also Ezekial, Mohammed and Meier himself.

Skeptic or believer, everyone agrees that Eduard Albert Meier is the source of much speculation. His photos and accounts of alien encounters, as well as his time traveling trips on alien craft will give even the staunchest of supporters a moment of mirth. But some of his more accurate and chilling predictions of things to come (from his perspective in 1958) will give many others pause before they laugh.

Meier still claims contact with his Plejaren friends but keeps to himself these days after claiming several attempts on his life over the years.

    sorry slight error/typo - should be instead - www.thecircleforhumanity.net
also just btw, in respect to the article - it should be only..4 world leaders being assassinated - serving to act as warning sign for third world conflagration.

ok thats all - otherwise good article.

The Meier Contacts meet all standards for a preponderance of proof beyond a reasonable doubt. All challenges by scientists and skeptics, to duplicate or debunk the physical and prophetic evidence, have been soundly defeated. The Meier Contacts are, therefore, the most important story in all of human history. There is no other possible conclusion.
