Today We Will Be Learning How to Use a Period with Initials and in Outlines
Day 3, Lesson 3:
What is the proper way to use periods in initials?
- It is important to use periods with initials in a person's name.

What is the proper way to use or not use periods with some initials used as abbreviations?
(Here are some examples).
A.D.
FBI
U.S.A.
a.m.
p.m.
CNN
Important Notes:
- Do not put a period after initials that form common words. These are called Acronyms.
( Examples of Acronyms:)
sonar
snafu
radar
laser
How do we use a period in an outline?
- We use a period after each letter or number that labels a division of an outline. The only exception is where parentheses are used.
(Examples:)
I. First...
A. Second...
1. Third...
a. Fourth...
(1) Fifth-level division
Important Note:
* Refer to a dictionary when you are unsure if you should use a period in an abbreviation.

Excellent, we can always use a refresher course!
I always get messed up with quotation marks. Do one of those. Oh where oh where does the "other punctuation" go when the quote is at the end of the sentence? I do know but it's still awkward.
