Edwards Oreo Cream Pie

Recently, I had the opportunity to eat Edwards Oreo Cream Pie for the first time. Previously, I had eaten two other varieties of Edwards frozen pies and thought they were great. This Oreo cream pie tasted even better than I thought it would.

The net weight of the standard-sized Edwards Oreo Cream Pie is 26 ounces. The pie contains six 123 grams (a little more than four ounces) servings. When I recently ate this pie, it was cut into 12 pieces. I noticed that although the slices were fairly thin, they held their shape and texture well.

When fully-packaged, this is a fairly big pie and requires a decent amount of space in one's freezer.

The regular retail price charged for one 26 ounce Edwards Oreo Cream Pie at Hartford, Connecticut area supermarkets ranges between $6.99 and $7.49. While the price of this pie seems high, it is a high quality item that can be served at virtually any type of gathering. At roughly $1.25 per serving, the price of this pie seems more reasonable.

Consistency / Texture
Several different textures are offered in the Edwards Oreo Cream Pie. The crust is a firm, yet chewy variety that is made largely from crushed chocolate cookies. The smooth and creamy filling is packed-tight with goodness and is studded with little pieces of chocolate cookies.

The topping on this pie is also made from crushed chocolate cookies and a ring of topping accentuates the other ingredients. The overall mouth-feel offered by Edwards Oreo Cream Pie is pleasing, luxurious and satisfying.

Taste / Flavor
As soon as I tasted the first bite of Edwards Oreo Cream Pie, I absolutely loved it. The combination of chocolate cookie crust and topping with a scrumptious, creamy filling in this frozen pie is sublime.

The keyword here to me, is creaminess. The overall flavor of this pie is very creamy and tastes like a dessert from a high-end restaurant. Normally, I'm not a huge fan of cookies and cream flavored items, but this pie manages to balance the flavors very well. On a flavor scale of one through ten, I would rate Edwards Oreo Cream Pie a 9.5.

Packaging
Edwards Oreo Cream Pie is packaged in a largely yellow and blue cardboard box. Inside the box, the pie is further packaged in a plastic plate like tray, with a plastic covering.

The front label features a nice illustration of the enclosed pie and the rear label lists all pertinent ingredient and nutritional information.

Overall Rating
If you're looking for a cool and creamy special dessert that looks and tastes great, look no further than Edwards Oreo Cream Pie. The combination of crushed chocolate cookies and a sweet creamy filling in this item is well balanced, creating a frozen pie that is a decadent, delicious and sensual treat.

This frozen pie is a wonderful item to keep on hand as a special dessert. It tastes so good however, that it might not last too long in many people's freezers.
