A new sub shop called Eegee's opened in Casa Grande, Arizona in mid 2010 and we decided to give the restaurant a try and compare to other name brand sandwich places. The first thing to know about Eegee's is they are famous for their "Eegee" which is an Italian ice type of dessert which has pieces of fresh fruit mixed in.

I ordered a Pina Colada flavored Eegee while my wife had ordered the Strawberry Eegee which tasted a lot better and more natural with strawberry pieces mixed in with the soft crushed ice. For the menu you will find a selection of Grinders (subs), Hot Dogs, Salads, Fries (with a variety of toppings) and warm baked pretzels.

When ordering a grinder or sub you can choose from a variety of rolls including White, Wheat and Rye and I chose the Rye roll for my Turkey, Ham and Cheese Grinder.

The "Grinder Style" is how I order my subs and the popular way to order them, it comes with the following toppings added to your sandwich: Pickles, black olives, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, spices, pepperoncini and Eegee's house dressing

I also ordered a warm salted pretzel which I found to be moist and taste good. It wasn't overly buttery or salty and has a more natural doughy flavor to it than some pretzel places.

The Ham & Turkey grinder itself taste pretty good, the rye bread roll was unique added its own flavor to the mix. The meat however was pretty standard cold cut quality. The combination of ingredients and sauce is what made it stand out compared to other sandwich places and I found it to be better than satisfactory.

My wife had the roast beef grinder and this was better in flavor than the Ham and Turkey Grinder. I have been told by my friend who went to Eegee's in Tucson, Arizona that the Italian Grinder warmed is the best grinder they make so I intend to order that one next time.

Overall I found Eegee's to be a welcome new sub shop in Casa Grande and the Eegee itself was a nice unique frozen treat without the calories or heaviness of ice cream desserts. The grinders were good and I would recommend it to anyone driving past or living in Casa Grande to visit Eegee's and give them a try. The prices were reasonable as well and slightly cheaper than some other chain sandwich shops in the area.

If you go over to Eegees.com website you can print out a two for one Eegee coupon which is worth getting, you shouldn't go to Eegee's and not at least try an Eegee which is what they are famous for.

Before they opened in Casa Grande, I had actually never heard of the restaurant before. The company even contacted me on Twitter after seeing my review which was cool.

i live in Tucson, Az and i LOVE Eegee's!!! I can never have to much of it. Their ranch fries are the BEST thing ever. When it comes to the Eegee drink it taste so good to mix the Pina with the strawberry. Many of my friends including myself order our drinks that way. They also have awesome flavor of the months. my favorites are the Watermelon and Holly Berry. Once you have had an Eegee's you wont stop :P
