Gameplay
The objective of Effective Attack is to destroy the red-colored building-like structure by firing a homing missile at it. Click inside the green circle that surrounds your tank to fire the missile. Once the rocket is fired, you can control it using your mouse. Guide the rocket towards the red-colored building-looking thing to destroy it. You must obviously avoid any obstacles in your way. To make the game a little more challenging, the rocket itself is timed to that it will detonate after a certain amount. of time. At the top of the screen, a red bar can be seen labeled Rocket Energy. When you fire the rocket, the energy bar will start to decrease. Once the bar is completely gone, the rocket will explode.
At the top left hand side of the screen, you can see which area number you are on. To the right of that is the number of attacks you have launched. To the right of that is the Rocket Energy bar mentioned earlier.
While playing, press M to return to the Main Menu. Press S to toggle the sound.
Effective Attack includes a medal reward system. The medals can be saved if you have a Newgrounds account. If you do not have a Newgrounds account, it is free to obtain one. Login to save your medals.
Effective Attack also features an international leaderboard that you can access from the Main Menu to see where you stand against players from around the world.
The Main Menu also provides a link to a video walkthrough of the game, in case you need some guidance. The video shows the player attempting to get through the levels. Though the player does not complete each level on the first try, the player does eventually complete each level successfully.
On Newgrounds.com the game is currently at version 4.4.
Game Review
Effective Attack is a difficult game, especially if you try to play it on a trackpad, but it offers a good challenge for those who think they are good at using a computer mouse.
