Effectively Use Ads on Your Blog to Make Money

Many people nowadays have a blog. There's no telling how often they write, and what their motivation for having and writing a blog is. For some people it's a personal journal, while some parents use it to document their newborn's life. For others, blogging is an attempt to make money. There are many places online that tell you of the massive amounts of money that have been made through blogging websites. But, for many people who've tried it, making money has not been so easy. Here are a few tips in order to help make your chances for making money through your blog better.

The first is to not overload your website with ads. It may be tempting with the mindset, "The more possible ads for people to click, the more money I am going to make." But, just think about your favorite websites. Are they overly cluttered with ads? Chances are, they probably aren't. People don't like to be bombarded with tons of ads. So, if you want people to come back to your website, then don't overload your blog with ads, instead use some of the tips below to maximize your chances of ads being clicked.

One suggestion is to use the sidebars on your blog. They are a prime spot not harming your actual content areas, but still allowing it to be visible (if no one can see it, it won't be clicked.) Many want to use their right sidebar to place the vertical ads on, since the left hand side is usually used for navigation. But, since people's eye normally go to the left sidebar looking for navigation tools, it is a good idea to actually put your ads on the left sidebar since people's eyes will normally go there, it will increase your chances of the ad being clicked on, and you making money.

Another idea is to place ads in between your blog posts. Since people will usually scroll down to see what else you've written (that is, if what you write is interesting) then they will be able to see multiple ads throughout their time on your website, but they will only see maybe one or two on the screen at a time, not making them feel bombarded by tons of ads.

Just remember that people won't want to come to your website if you have tons of ads all over the place. Therefore, if you don't have people at your blog, then you won't be able to make money anyway. Utilize some of the tips in this article, write good content that will attract visitors, and promote your blog, and you will be well on your way to earning money just by simply writing and advertising on your blog.
