EFT and Why it Works

EFT, or Emotional Freedom Technique, is a new innovative method for getting rid of emotional and mental blockages. This includes obsessive compulsive disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, and the emotional hang-ups we experience every day from past life experience or parental mistakes.

This is a purely alternative treatment for emotional and mental blockages. It is based upon the fact that we have all received some sort of programming in our lives, from the time we were babies till now. We have been talked about, told certain things, and trained to believe specific things about ourselves. These beliefs can become so ingrained into who we are that it is difficult to change them.

EFT uses certain points on our bodies, which are tied to our subconscious minds. The inner eyebrows, the outside of the eyes on the bone, under the eyes, under the nose, on the chin, the inner endpoints of the clavicle, and three or four inches below the armpits. If you tap on these points, which are direct connection to your subconscious mind, and speak out loud your intentions in positive, first-person, present tense terms. Tap several times on each set of points with both hands and speak in the present tense, like so, "I attract abundance, love and health at all time of the day." This reprograms your subconscious mind that what you are saying is true.

To get rid of unwanted emotion or beliefs, do the same things while running through the tapping points. Only this time, phrase it this way, "Even though I am a chain smoker, I deeply and completely accept myself. Even though I love to smoke, I deeply and completely accept myself." And then run through all of the things you love about smoking or that draw you to smoke. "The way it fills my lungs." "The sense of security it brings me." "The way it takes away my stress."

It is advisable to fill the void of the missing subconscious patterns with new, positive patterns, like this. "I have a lifestyle which brings me much more happiness than smoking ever brought me." "I feel stress-free and completely at peace now that I have quit smoking." "I have habits in my life which not only replace smoking, but which enrich my learning ability, my new, happier life, and which are growing me to be a better, more well-rounded individual."

EFT is like housecleaning. You will need to clean out a lot of the old junk, and you will also have to replace it with new, fresh things. If your mental habits and beliefs change, then your lifestyle will completely change, too.
