Eggtoberfest - the Big Green Egg's Version of Oktoberfest

Nick G.
Every year in Munich Germany, an event takes place where large amounts of beer and food are consumed by the population. This event is called Oktoberfest and even though it has originated in Germany, it is celebrated worldwide by individuals who are of German descent. It is also celebrated and recognized by people of all cultures who enjoy eating German foods and drinking German beers.

It is a 16 day event that starts in late September and ends on the first Sunday in October. The event is held on the Theresienwiese fair grounds. The grounds are converted into an amusement park setting where rides, performers, livestock, food venders, and most importantly, beer tents are showcased. This event draws a crowd of over 6 million people every year which makes it the largest event in the world.

Oktoberfest is celebrated all over the world in different countries. In the United States, there are many cities that celebrate their version of Oktoberfest. Seattle, Salt Lake City, Milwaukee, Indianapolis, and Pittsburg are just a few cities that have Oktoberfest celebrations. There is one version, however, that takes place 2 weeks after Oktoberfest has ended. It is called Eggtoberfest and it is a festival for meat lovers sponsored by The Big Green Egg.

The Big Green Egg is known as the worlds best smoker and grill. It is an all-climate grill that can work in any weather...even rain! Its durable ceramic design and egg shape keeps the heat trapped in the grill and keeps the cold, wind and rain out. It is made to cook everything from your favorite steak to a fresh apple pie. It is an oven, smoker, and outdoor grill all wrapped up into one product.

This grill has been known to produce the tastiest meats known to man. Since it is so well designed, it regularly produces tender meats that fall off the bone and retain their moisture and taste. It does not dry out meats or produce a metal taste. It does what it is supposed to do. It cooks meats to perfection and keeps people wanting more. Even an amateur griller can cook up a great tasting steak with this product.

During Eggtoberfest, Big Green Egg enthusiasts come from miles around to cook their best barbecue, be it chicken, pork, beef, fish, or lamb chops. This event has been going on since 1998 in Georgia. For one flat fee, you get to sample some of the best meat creations made by different grillers from all over the country. The ticket price includes all beverages...even beer! This is an all-you-can-eat affair and with so much meat and beer available, it doesn't take very long to get full.

So if you are looking for an event to attend after Oktoberfest, an event that will allow you to eat more meat and drink even more beer, then Eggtoberfest is the place for you to go. Just make sure you go on an empty stomach so you can enjoy as much as you can until you cannot eat another bite.
