With the release of so many great games in 2011, you may be wondering what 2012 has to offer. Gamers will be pleased to know that this year is shaping up to be another great one for video gaming. You can look forward to seeing some new games and a few sequels to some of the great games already available.
Here are eight of the most anticipated video games I'm looking forward to this year along with the expected release date for each one.
Number One: Final Fantasy XIII-2
Final Fantasy XIII-2 is scheduled to release on January 31. This is the sequel to Final Fantasy XIII and it promises to be a great game with many new additions. You can expect to see new towns and a wonderful world design that will make this game even more awesome. You should also notice some improvements to the battle-system that you're sure to enjoy.
Number Two: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
Scheduled to release on February 7, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is a promising RPG with a lot of hype surrounding it. If you're a little confused about what to expect from this game, you're not alone. It's being described as a unique video game like nothing else you've ever seen so it's difficult to explain but one thing is for sure. Many gamers expect it to become one of the biggest games of 2012.
Number Three: Resident Evil Revelations 3 DS
On February 7, Resident Evil Revelations 3 DS is also scheduled for release. Expect amazing visual effects along with faster gameplay due to the touch screen capabilities. You'll even have the option of switching between first and third person shooter views, which should greatly enhance the game.
Number Four: Uncharted: Golden Abyss
February 22 is the expected release date for Uncharted: Golden Abyss. There are many dark secrets to discover when you begin exploring the Spanish expedition 400-year-old massacre. However, the best part is that you can enjoy all of this action and adventure on your handheld device.
Number Five: Mass Effect 3
If you're waiting for a great sci-fi RPG, your wait should be over on March 6, when Mass Effect 3 is scheduled to release. You'll notice many changes in the story and the choices you make will affect how the game plays out. For example, when passing though Reaper territory, you may need to take evasive action to avoid an altercation with the Reapers. This mini-game is just one of the changes made to the game to make it more exciting.
Number Six: Diablo lll
Diablo lll is an action RPG scheduled to release on March 31. Blizzard has made many enhancements to the game such as adding a few new classes that include a barbarian and a witch doctor. One change that you'll notice right away is the graphics that portray a full 3D environment.
Number Seven: Borderlands 2
As 2012 draws to an end, Borderlands 2 is scheduled to release on December 31 and it's sure to be a game worth waiting for with all of its enhancements. Expect new characters, weapons, equipment and more from this four-player action RPG shooter game with a great storyline.
Number Eight: The Last Guardian
The Last Guardian is expected to release in 2012 but the exact release date is unclear at this time. What is clear is that many gamers will wait for this video game for as long as it takes. The reason is that players are sure this adventure game will be as amazing and entertaining as the previous ones.
