Eight Toads

A knot of toads
A total of eight
some may call it fate
Others, the call of the road

The toads were quite knotty
Rebellious and playful
Many didn't like them- They weren't too faithful
Others said they were too rowdy

Some thought they were wonderful
Exciting and a sight to see
it was a circus show for free
They did not know their acts would be fateful

The knotty group liked to run
Every day across the highway
Back and forth each way
They thought it was in good fun

A speeding sports car
It was the last run for four
They won't be knotty anymore
And they won't be going far

A knot of toads
Now there are four
They will not run anymore
No more knotty toads
