Things I know for a fact:
When the polls open, the voters will show up. The will get in line. Many may have to stand in line for hours. Some voting machines will malfunction; many other machines will work perfectly fine. There will be lunch breaks for the workers. Some of the voters will be confused, others won't be. There will be young and old voters. There will be black and white voters. Some voters are smart and others not to smart. Some voters are unemployed, others go to work. Some are old(er) like me; others are young(er) with not much life experience.
At the end of the day we will have winners and losers. Life as you and I know it will go on better, worse or the same. There will be celebration parties and concession speeches. Some candidates will be happy, others will be sad, some may not care. The voters will have mixed reactions; the late night talk show hosts will have fuel for their scripts. Saturday Night Live will make people laugh.
Candidates will get hugs and kisses all around. Some candidates will be alone, others in a group. The numbers will show what the country wants, or maybe not. It all depends on who does the asking and who does the telling.
The campaign signs will still be hanging around on street corners until the first snow. Politics will be discussed on each of those same street corners from now until hell freezes over. We will still get up and do whatever it is we do each day. People will still be smart or stupid, young or old, rich or poor, loved or not loved, insecure or extroverted, home owners or homeless, office workers or freelance writers.
What will change, what will life be like on Wednesday, November 3, 2010?
TV shows will be back to regular broadcasting. Campaign speeches and promises will be forgotten, remembered or swept under the rug. You won't have to be afraid to answer the phone or open the mail. Life will be back to normal, whatever normal is!
Now you know what tomorrow, Election Day, will bring because you read this educational article - Election Predictions and Outcomes for November 2, 2010. Now get out and vote!
