Electronic Review: HP Pavilion Dv6985se

I've always been a sucker when it comes to laptops. I just love them! There is nothing better, computer-wise, than being able to take your computer with you on the go, get internet access with Wi-Fi, and still be able to stay in contact with everyone. It's amazing! Well, since I'm a laptop geek, I've been looking into quite a few new models. The one that caught my eye most recently is the HP Pavilion dv6985se.

Body:
When it comes to style and appearance, the Pavilion has got the look. This laptop is available in many sizes and colors and custom designs to fit everyone's unique personality. The most common dv6985se sold is 14.1 x 10.1 x 1.1 inches (dimensions) and has a 15.4 inch screen.

The screen resolution is a standard 1,280x800, which is most common for this screen size. Pavilion dv6985se has a glossy screen that produces amazing contrasts and colors. If you're a movie lover and use your laptop to view movies, this is the perfect laptop for you! The rich colors make the movie experience above and beyond.

The HP Pavilion dv6985se almost has a full keyboard which makes typing a wonder. Like most new laptops, the dv6985se comes equipped with a touch-pad mouse. But if you would like to use an external mouse without the hassle of your touch-pad being bumped, the dv6985se gives you the ability to turn on and off your touch-pad mouse. Very nice!

Handy little control buttons, such as: disc control playback, volume adjuster, and HP's QuickPlayer media player, are all at your fingertips. You can find these controls right above the keyboard. Also, HP kept up with style even when it came down to the keyboard. The keyboard has an amazing polished look to it.

Features:
The HP Pavilion dv6985se has most average features for a laptop. You have a DVD player, DVD burner with LightScribe, Ethernet, 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, mini-FireWire, Stereo speakers, two headphone jacks, microphone jack, 3 USB, multiformat memory card reader, etc...But the dv6985se lacks Bluetooth. This was a rather big disappointment.

The battery that comes with the Pavilion is very bulky. It's a 12-cell battery and weights 6.6 pounds! Of course the battery can be removed, but just remember that when it's in there you will have some extra baggage to carry around. The average battery life for the Pavilion is 5 hours and some odd minutes. That's a plus!

Lastly, we can't forget about the RAM, processor, and running ware. The Pavilion comes with Window's Vista already to go. It has 4GB of RAM and a 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor.

All-in-all, if you're into style and fashion and want a computer that you can watch videos on, store pictures on, use for daily activity (email, internet, iTunes, etc...) this is the perfect computer for you!

HP Pavilion dv6985se can be found at Best Buy for as little as $999.99.
