Senate Inquiry
Legislators of the land...
Just gather to grandstand...
This they do with gusto...
In front of the camera, too!

Now, the hapless citizenry...
Watch in utter dismay...
As the Representatives they elect...
Cajoled and threatened their "suspect!"

Except the media who are there to cover...
Everybody else's have no share...
In this "blessing" of democracy...
Suppose to be for you and me!

Beneath their seeming interest...
Best for the country, they insist...
Yet, folks can just see...
They're doing not as they should be!

The breezy air of confidence...
With which they talk, minus the sense...
Is due to parliamentary immunity...
Which lawmakers have in session, you see?

For them, to hell with all of us...
Media mileage must come to pass...
The one thing we sure need...
Is for them all to be shot dead!

Often they use our tax money...
To pay for their hypocrisy...
While we, whom they should serve...
Never get what we deserve!

Lawmakers in Senate and Congress...
Are not thinking about our progress...
Rather, of how they can get re-elected...
By the hungry mob who have become stupid!
