Element EcoWear: Green Clothing for All

Going green usually means using more organic deodorants, refraining from using lawn sprinklers, remembering to turn off lights and electrical appliances when not in use, and spinning the wheels on our bicycles a little more instead of driving everywhere. However, going green can really mean even more than this. While doing these things are definitely great steps towards creating a greener world, there are still other less popular (but still very effective) ways of living environmentally friendly lifestyles. One of these ways is to purchase a greener wardrobe; while this is not suggesting that you should throw out all of your current clothing and replace it with these greener options, this is to encourage you to think green as you make future clothing purchases. In fact, clothing companies such as Element EcoWear are all about offering green, eco-friendly products.

Element EcoWear sells everything from jeans to shirts to dresses, all made with these environmentally friendly clothing materials. Taking things a step further, Element works to ensure that all of their products are purchased through fair trade providers, only offering their customers products not produced through sweat shop labor.

The materials used for all of Element EcoWear's products are very green. The cotton used is 100% organic, but Element offers clothing made with other materials as well. More specifically, this eco-friendly company sells apparel crafted from bamboo, soy, and hemp fabrics. These are all great, earth friendly alternatives to the cotton normally used for clothing products. Bamboo, for example, consumes four times more CO2 than trees; this fact, combined with the more readily available green processing of this plant, produces a very green clothing product. Hemp is a great cotton alternative as this hardy plant does not require any pesticides or herbicides for growth and yields a relatively high fiber content from each plant. Finally, soy is also a great cotton alternative since the cloth is made from soy hulls-an otherwise discarded part of the soy food processing procedure.

Besides simply selling eco-friendly products, Element EcoWear takes the concept of being a green business a step further by being a part of the "One Percent for the Planet" campaign. As a part of this movement, Element EcoWear promises to donate at least one percent of every purchase to an earth conservatory organization, such as The Coral Reef Alliance, The National Resources Defense Council, Earth Justice, and The Trust for Public Land. When consumers shop at Element EcoWear, they can be confident in knowing that the clothing they purchase is green and that their money is being donated towards a worthy cause.
