Elements in Loves' Eyes

April Higney
Shadows of clouds hovered over the riverbed of time,
where her tears fell rain,
millions of tiny ripples splashing across the surface of her heart,
all showing through her eyes,
along the depths of ever-changing color,
also the softness,
still glowing of growing,
sunflowers in the day,
scattering seeds across the tall grasses,
of a mind still knowing,
still believing,
in the beauty, of the elements of love,
beyond the sharpness of shale, obsidian, and onyx,
moving from the dark, into amber, then topaz,
and collecting into the clarity of crystal.
She felt the touch of clover within her being,
as she became aware of another, quietly standing there.
His smile staring into her soul,
these hidden eyes of hers, he could see into,
swimming through them, caressing her mind,
in the quiet hush of words along the wind.
His hand reaches out,
a vine, wrapping around hers, embracing,
the trembling touch,
shaking deep within,
tender the leaves,
as Autumn.
His eyes, deep forests,
of dreamers' landscape,
he held her hand, journeying together,
withstanding each trail along life,
surpassing storms,
in strength, carrying each other in the climb over mountains,
to reach the peak,
holding devotion, in passions kiss,
beneath the sunlight,
their glow, following along, the mist of the once faded rainbow,
finding within each other,
truth beyond the eyes, limitless horizons,
merging the mystical beauty, in the elements of a dream,
their lovemaking in the night sighing,
in sweet surrender beneath the moon,
dancing rhythm to the stars.
