Eleven Uses for White Toothpaste

Sandra Bacon
11 uses for white toothpaste? Well toothpaste in one form or another, has been around for thousands of years, and I'm willing to bet that even then people were using it for more than brushing their teeth.

Some of the ingredients found in toothpaste makes it suitable for polishing, cleaning and deodorizing. White toothpaste is better suited for some of these tasks, because white won't stand out.

However, if what you're using it for can take the blue, green or red colors, then by all means use them.

Filling Holes:

I've used toothpaste many times to fill nail holes. If you have a hole in your wall that isn't too large, and can be filled, try using toothpaste. Especially if your walls are white.

Polishing Agent:

Use it to polish your gold or silver. Just rub it on until the item shines, then rinse, and dry with a soft cloth.

Clean Off Tar:

If you ever get tar on your hands or any skin on your body, just rub the toothpaste over the spot until the tar is gone.

Clean Hands:

If you ever end up with hands that don't smell so nice, like from fish. Try washing your hands with an inch of toothpaste. This should remove the smell.

Clean Shoes:

This will probably work better on leather shoes. Rub the toothpaste over the scuff mark until it's gone, then clean the toothpaste off.

Piano Keys:

Piano keys have a tendency to get really icky with dirt. Use a damp cloth with toothpaste to rub the keys clean. Then wipe the toothpaste off and dry the keys with a soft cloth.

Clear Pimples:

Just put a little toothpaste on the acne pimple before you go to bed at night.

Freshen Baby Bottles:

Baby bottles can become very sour smelling, and even the most vigorous cleaning won't make them smell any better. Squirt some toothpaste on the bottle brush to clean. This should give them a fresh clean odor.

Clean Your Walls:

Clean your walls from crayon marks that is! Short of painting over the marks, try cleaning them with a soft toothbrush and toothpaste.

Those Dreaded Ink Spots:

I've had this happen so many times, but didn't know that all I had to do was rub toothpaste over the ink spot, scrub until it's gone, then rinse and wash.

Clean Glassware:

If you ever get scratch marks on your glassware, just polish them with toothpaste and a soft cloth.

Did you know that the CIA used poisoned toothpaste as part of their assassination arsenal. One of their agents, whose assignment was to get rid of the Belgian Congo prime minister, Patrice Lumumba, was issued poisoned toothpaste along with other devices. But the agent stated he never used them.

Something else I bet you didn't know is that bears are attracted to the scent of toothpaste. So when you go camping, be sure to store your soap, food and toothpaste in waterproof bags that you can hang at least 20 feet from the ground. Any thing that smells like food, bears will eat it. Including your toothpaste!

And if you think you're the only one who squeezes the toothpaste tube from the top, think again, at least 72 percent of Americans do the same.
