Day Six (Wednesday, June 4, 2008)
I like the dress-with-boots look. During my freshman and sophomore years of high school, I used to go a little bit radical chic and pair lace-up Victorian boots that were essentially dolled-up combat boots with knee-length dresses but have since abandoned that choice. Now I only pair grungy boots with pants. For dresses and skirts, if I do wear boots, they are streamline and ladylike. I didn't wear jewelry today because the dress is already so busy. I also wore my hair up to add a level of seriousness to an outfit that is sort of young and free-spirited. Balance is important to any outfit.
*No Boundaries A-line dress that my mother brought home from Wal-Mart yesterday. Because I have such strong preferences and my mother's naturally observant, she often correctly guesses what I will and will not wear. Every now and then, she'll buy something I don't like so I'll politely thank her and place it in her closet or hand it over to my sisters.
*These boots only cost $0.50 at the Episcopalian thrift shop on Columbia Pike in South Arlington.
*GIA salmon lace camisole that I often use for layering. I don't layer so much in the summertime because of the heat and humidity but during the rest of the year, I experiment a lot with all sorts of unusual combinations.
