E.L.F. Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder in "Sunkissed": A Review

The Pen
I was searching on Drugstore.com recently because I'd always wanted to try a bronzer but I wasn't really sure what color I needed or how to apply it, so I wanted to experiment with one without spending a lot of money.

There I found the Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder by the ridiculously cheap makeup line E.L.F. Cosmetics for only $1.49. The Bronzing Powder comes in a wide c-thru plastic compact that looks really cheap like it's makeup targeted for teens.

I chose the E.L.F. Bronzing Powder in Sunkissed because I have brown skin and it looked like it would be dark enough to show up on me. Sunkissed is a light terracotta color with fine shimmer scattered throughout it, it basically looks like a deep tan shade with reddish tones.

I applied the E.L.F. Healthy Glow Bronzing powder as soon as it arrived and it was really softly pressed so I found it to be easy to blend into my skin. I applied it on my cheeks, forehead, and the bridge of my nose and it actually gave me a healthy looking glow as it promised.

Even though my skin is brown I have more yellow and green tones in it, so the red tones really made me look fresh. The powder brightened my skin and made me look naturally tan. It's a lifesaver on days when my skin is looking pale or when I'm looking worn out if I haven't had enough sleep.

Sunkissed is the darkest shade of the three colors that the Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder comes in, but I wish E.L.F. created an even darker shade, because Sunkissed was only one or two shades darker than my skin. It's about the color that I naturally tan so I wasn't really able to get the contoured and deeply bronzed tan look that I was initially going for.

In the End...

E.L.F Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder claims that all three colors of their bronzing powder will warm up every complexion, and Sunkissed definitely warmed up my skin and gave me a natural looking glow since it was only a shade or so darker than my skin. I'm not sure if it would work on darker brown skin tones, though.

This bronzer did help me to get comfortable enough to try other bronzers this summer in darker colors. Even still I would continue to buy the E.L.F. Bronzing Powder (from their website eyeslipsface.com since it's only $1 there instead of the $1.50 I paid at drugstore.com) to use during the winter because it really made my skin look better and it gave me a natural looking glow.I recommend it for medium skin tones, but it's so
