E.L.F Luscious Lipsticks: Product Review

Eyes Lips Face, or E.L.F, is cosmetic brand that's fairly new to the makeup world but has quickly become a well known name amongst makeup artists all over the world. E.L.F is famous for many things, like their one dollar makeup and makeup brushes, being cruelty-free and their association with PETA. I'd never heard of E.L.F cosmetics until I started watching makeup tutorials on Youtube and ever since my first purchase I've been a fan. One of the many E.L.F products that I have in my collection is their Luscious Lipstick in the color Baby Lips.

E.L.F's Luscious lipstick is a lipstick in a lipgloss form. This lipstick was designed to be hydrating, giving the lips long-lasting moisture. It's also formulated with natural pigments to give the lipstick color staying power. E.L.F's Luscious lipstick comes in a variety of color that is meant to flatter and compliment any skin tone.

My Experience
Pros

I've read mixed reviews about E.L.F's Luscious Lipstick and didn't know which to believe so I had to try it out for myself. I got their Luscious Lipstick in the color Baby Lips. There are several things about this lipstick that I like. The first thing is the packaging. I like that it comes in a clear, slim tube the way a lipgloss does. It's slim enough that I can stick it into my pocket or a small clutch, and I don't have to worry about the lid coming off when it's being tussled around in my purse. It's affordable as well, costing me only a dollar. E.L.F's Luscious Lipstick also has a nice smell to it, minty. It has minty taste to it too, and kind of tingles. This lipstick is easy to apply, it has a no-mess sponge applicator. The lipstick itself isn't sticky, goes on smooth and slick like a lipgloss but has the color pay off of a lipstick.

Cons

There were a few things that I thought E.L.F could improve on with their Luscious Lipstick. The first thing is the felt-tip applicator. This particular applicator isn't as soft as some of the other ones I've tried, in fact I can feel how hard it is every time I use it. There wasn't enough felt to the felt tip. There's also not much product that comes in the tube either. It's a bit deceiving. The tube looks long but the product only fills up half of the tube. The last thing is, for a lipstick this product doesn't stay on the lips for very long. It has the staying power of a lipgloss.

Verdict

E.L.F's Luscious Lipstick is a pretty good product for the price. It's not the best lipstick but it's a decent inexpensive one. In this case you'll be getting what you paid for.
