E.L.F. Mineral Concealer Review

Great Alternative to Bare Minerals

Alexis Valentine
Mineral makeup has become more widely available due to it's popularity, all thanks to Bare Minerals. Mineral makeup as become even more popular now that it's become the "in" thing to be green and organic. Whatever your reason for wanting to try mineral makeup the point is it generally works very well and because mineral makeup tends to be natural it's better for the health of your skin. The cost of mineral makeup varies between brands but generally they tend to cost a bit more than regular makeup, however, there is a brand that offers very affordable mineral makeup and that is E.L.F. cosmetics. I've tried several of their products from their mineral line and a favorite of mine was their concealer.

What I liked about E.L.F's Mineral concealer is that it's super affordable. A .12 oz. container costs only $5. That's unheard of among Bare Minerals products, heck, my L'oreal mineral concealer which comes in a tiny little container was double that price. I really liked that because it's an E.L.F. product I know that this product wasn't tested on animals. No matter how good a product is or how affordable I will never buy cosmetics that have been tested on animals, it's just an ethical rule of mine.

E.L.F's Mineral concealer ingredients are 100 percent mineral based and has an SPF 15. I love natural products that also provides sun protection. This mineral concealer is currently available in five shades. I also love the packaging. The container and overall look of this products is very much like that of Bare Minerals which makes it easy to open and close, as well as easy to use. I liked that it feels nice on my skin, doesn't irritate my skin and is easy to take off with soap and water. I find that the coverage is very good too and lasts a long time. I wore it for a wedding and it lasted all day.

There were a few cons to E.L.F's Mineral concealer too. I love this product so my biggest concern was being able to find it in stores, which I wasn't so I had to order it off of their website and suffer the $7 shipping fee. Although it comes in five shades E.L.F. could've offered a few more darker shades for the darker skinned ladies. This product doesn't come with a brush either, that has to be bought separately.

Even with its flaws I still think this product was well worth the money and quite a bargain considering the quality. I would purchase this product again and would recommend it to anyone wanting to try mineral makeup, or just looking for an affordable alternative to Bare Minerals.
