E.L.F. Plumping Lip Glaze Review

Not Bad for a Buck

A good lip plumping lipstick and gloss is hard to find, especially one that won't leave a dent in your wallet. Considering the current state of the economy many people have learned to become smarter shoppers. Affordable products don't have to be cheap and when it comes to products that will be used on something as precious as your face you don't want to skimp on quality for price. I'm not sure when this craze for plumper lips started, maybe around the time when Botox became popular, but it seems like lip plumping products are everywhere now. I naturally have full lips but I've always been curious about these products and if they really worked. When I discovered that E.L.F. had a plumping lip glaze I figured why not give it a try, and so I did.

I'll start off with the pros to E.L.F's Plumping Lip Glaze. The first thing I noticed was the packaging. It came in a cute tube that had two sides to it. One side was meant for a subtle plump and it was the side with the color, the other clear gloss was meant to create a more noticeable plump. The two sides can be worn separately or alone. I liked that this product only costs a dollar and it actually works! I really liked knowing that this product wasn't tested on animals either. I also liked that it is a gloss that has a glossy finish. I found that it went on evenly and was fairly true to color. I didn't notice any stinging or burning which was a worry of mine because so many reviewers had mentioned that. I felt a slight tingle but that was it. It worked well for day time wear if you're using the color side but it works well at night too if you want to use it under your favorite lip color. E.L.F's Plumping Lip Glaze comes in eight colors, all of which I love. I also liked that it wasn't sticky like a lot of lip glosses are and it doesn't have a funny taste to it.

From my experience there were only a few cons to this plumping lip gloss. The first one being that it's not exactly the easiest product to find in stores so I had to deal with the $7 shipping costs. I didn't like that it wore off so easily and I had to reapply it several times in one day. It's also not that pigmented to be worn at night alone, it's best used with a lipstick.

E.L.F's Plumping Lip Glaze is a pretty good lip plumping product in my opinion, especially since it only costs a dollar. Is it the best? Not even close, but it does what it claims and it's very affordable. In a way you get two for the price of one. Even if you don't like the tinted side you can always use the clear side with other lip products. For a dollar I think it's worth giving a try.
