E.L.F. Product Review: 5 to Try Today

Robin Kay
E.L.F. Cosmetics is a company that proves you don't have to sacrifice quality for affordability. Here are five of my favorite products, none of which are more than $3 a piece.

1. E.L.F. Under Eye Concealer and Highlighter. This concealer is my favorite product. The concealer covers light to moderate dark circles but still blends in well enough that the skin under your eyes doesn't look unnaturally white. The formula is thick and has ingredients such as Vitamin E and chamomile for moisturizing and soothing the delicate under eye skin.

The highlighter side of the product I use less. It is thin in consistency and very shimmery in color.

2. Complexion Perfection. This powder compact has four colors in it: yellow, pink, green, and blue. When you swirl your face brush in it, the colors all blend together to make a fine, colorless powder. Applied lightly, Complexion Perfection helps even out your skin tone. You will need a big, fluffy face or complexion brush to apply it.

3. Studio Blush in Tickled Pink. This blush is fabulous. The Tickled Pink color is very flattering on my fair skin. It's a powder, which goes on lightly with a very slight shimmer, to create a flushed, natural looking glow. For $3, you get a really good amount- I've had mine for several months and it still looks barely used.

4. Nourishing Cuticle Pen. For only $1, this product is a real bargain. It is cuticle oil in a pen shaped package. The tip is narrow and flat, which is perfect for swiping the oil over your cuticles and nails without getting it everywhere. The oil is light, which I prefer over the thick cuticle butters I've used in the past. It contains almond oil, aloe, and Vitamin E as moisturizing ingredients.

5. Mini Eyelash Curler. I use a regular eyelash curler everyday, so when I saw the mini size one on the e.l.f. website, I had to try it. It's about a third of the width of a normal size eyelash curler, which makes it perfect for getting the inner or outer corners of your eyelashes that sometimes get missed with the big one. You barely have to squeeze to get a really good curl, which is nice for the delicate eyelashes.

If you are worried about the quality of e.l.f. cosmetics, these products are a good place to start. Be sure to search online for coupon codes before ordering, as the company almost always has good deals floating around that make their products an absolute bargain.
