E.L.F Studio Line Eye Primer and Eyeliner Sealer Duo

Alexis Valentine
I've been a fan of E.L.F cosmetics probably since the moment I first tried their products, which was really only about three months ago. I found about E.L.F cosmetics through word of mouth and by watching numerous makeup tutorial videos on Youtube. Now I'll be honest I was a bit of a snob when I first saw E.L.F in stores. I was living in another city at the time and I'd see E.L.F products in certain stores, usually grocery stores, and saw how much it costs but never even considered trying it. At the time I'd never heard of it, nor had I seen any ads for it and for the price I just assumed it was very cheap makeup. It wasn't until years later that I really discovered E.L.F cosmetics. The reason why they're so affordable is because they cut costs through flashy packaging and expensive marketing and advertising. So basically they let the product speak for itself. Among the many E.L.F products that I have bought over the last few months is their Studio Line Eye primer and Eyeliner sealer.

About

E.L.F's Studio Line Eye primer and Eyeliner sealer is two products in one. On one side is the eyeshadow primer and the other side is the eyeliner sealer. The eye primer is meant to work like any other eyeshadow primer, it's suppose to help make the eyeshadow colors show true and really pop, as well as keep it from fading, creasing or bleeding. It comes in a stick form. The eyeliner side is meant to transform any eyeshadow into a liquid eyeliner. It's formulated to be waterproof and smudge-proof. The eyeliner sealer comes with a felt-tip brush and the liquid is clear.

My Experience
Pros

Most of E.L.F's products are only a dollar each, including their professional makeup brushes but E.L.F also has a mineral makeup line and their Studio line (high end) that costs more but are still very affordable. Their Studio Line products are all price at $3 each and that's where I got my Studio Line Eye primer and Eyeliner Sealer from. I was skeptical about this product but the moment I tried it out I fell in love. The eye primer is a decent one. It goes on light, easy to apply because of it's stick form and it's easy to spread with the fingers or a brush. I like that it doesn't make my eyelids feel heavy or oily. I would recommend using a little though because too much will make it clumpy. The eye primer does a good job at making the eyeshadows last for most of the day and it can be used as a concealer too. My favorite part is the eyeliner sealer though. The eyeliner sealer part is amazing. I tried it with every eyeshadow color I had and it worked great with every single one. It really is waterproof and smudge-proof, I tested it out myself. I like the felt-tip brush too because it makes it very easy to apply the eyeliner. The best part is that like all of E.L.F's products their Studio Line Eye primer and Eyeliner sealer is cruelty-free.

Cons

There are a few negative aspects to E.L.F's Studio Line Eye primer and Eyeliner sealer duo. The first thing is that E.L.F's products can be hard to find but their Studio Line is even harder to find, and it's currently only available to US residents. The eye primer smells a tad funny, sort of like latex balloons. It also creases after about an hour.

Verdict

I love my E.L.F Studio Line Eye primer and Eyeliner sealer duo but I wouldn't recommend it if you're wanting to get it for the primer side. This eye primer isn't the best choice, even for the price but the eyeliner sealer is excellent and I'd recommend it as well as buy it again just for that side. Even if you don't like the primer it can be used as a concealer too so you won't have to waste it. Two products for just $3 how can you beat that?
