E.L.F. Studio Line Lip Stain Review

Long Lasting Lip Stain

Lately it seems like lip stains are there new "it" product that everyone's trying to compete with. Revlon and Covergirl has their versions of lip stains, as well as some of the higher end brands. Lip stains are nothing new, they've been around at least a couple of years before all these other brands decided to come out with their own versions. I've never paid much attention to lip stains simple because it sounded like it would be a pain to try to wash off, but when E.L.F. came out with their own lip stain under their Studio line I couldn't help but be curious so I tried it out.

First off the idea of a long lasting lip product didn't use to appeal to me until I started wearing makeup more often. I realized how tedious it could get to have to reapply my lipstick or check my lipstick every time I ate or drank. What I liked about E.L.F's Studio lip stain is that it's another one of E.L.F's two in one products. For just $3 I'm essentially getting two products. The colored side gives you a matte look, while the clear glossy side adds shine. I liked that this product contains vitamins A and E to keep my lips moisturized and looking smooth. E.L.F's Studio lip stain comes in eight very pigmented colors. I was surprised, this product really did do a good job of staying on my lips without smudging or fading. I was able to wear it all day and not have to touch up once, not even after eating.

There's really only one negative side to this lip stain, as with many lip stains, and that's getting it off. Lip stains are notorious for being difficult to wash off but with E.L.F's Studio lip stain the best way to remove it is to use any oil or cream based makeup remover. My normal makeup remover didn't work as well with this product so I had to check on E.L.F's website to see what they recommend it and the oil based cleansers and removers did the job for me. The other thing that I should point out is that although the lip stain part stays on very well the glossy part needs to be reapplied just like any gloss.

I would consider purchasing this product again simply just to have around in case I ever need a lip product that needs to stay on all day. I will say, this lip stain is slightly easier to take off than some that I've tried. I would recommend it if you're interesting in lip stains.
