We're at least a few months away from a potential Plaxico Burress return to the New York Giants. Several of Plax's fellow teammates want to see Burress wearing (Big) blue this summer.

Numerous media sources, including NBC Sports and Newsday, posted quotes from quarterback Eli Manning regarding a possible Burress return to the team. The stories quote Manning as saying "I think the Giants will look hard into (bringing Burress back). I think they know what kind of player he is. Obviously he knows our system. It hasn't changed...I think if that's what the Giants feel, I know what kind of player he can be and we already have a great corps of receivers right now."

Wide receiver Steve Smith, set to be a free agent whenever the current NFL labor dispute is settled, made his feelings public via Facebook. "Im w eli regarding plax... what u think???" was posted on his official Facebook page on Sunday morning.

Several other members of the New York Giants on both offense and defense have stated that they would like to see Burress return to the team. Burress and head coach Tom Coughlin had a rocky relationship (at best) during Plax's first run with the Giants, as the diva-esque wide receiver was fined dozens of times for on and off-the-field activities. For what it's worth, Coughlin has not yet stated that he is yearning for Burress to once again be a member of the Giants.
