Eli Vs Peyton: The Manning Brothers Play an NFL Game Sunday Night

The New York Giants travel to Indianapolis this weekend to take on the Indianapolis Colts in a Sunday night football in a Eli vs. Peyton NFL game. Payton Manning will be at the helm of the Colts, with little brother Eli leading the Giants. This will be the second time the two brothers meet up in a game. Both quarterbacks have played in, and won a Superbowl championship. Someday there may even be a Manning vs Manning match up in the Superbowl.

The last time the Manning brothers played an Eli vs. Peyton game in an NFL game was in 2006. Peyton's Colts defeated the New York Giants 26-21 in a competitive game. Both Manning quarterbacks had comparable statistics, however, little brother Eli threw 2 interceptions. Eli threw more passes, since the Colt concentrate more on the passing game, but Eli had a slightly higher completion percentage.

The Colts had a horrible preseason losing all four games. The Colts also lost a home opener to the underdog Houston Texans. The Indianapolis Colts appear to be on a downhill slide from the prominence that they displayed for the past few seasons. After the first week of the season, Peyton Manning leads all NFL quarterbacks with 433 yards passing. Peyton Manning's passing percentage was a decent 70%, and his quarterback rating stood at 109.8 which places Peyton fourth among all NFL quarterbacks.

The New York Giants played well during the preseason. Eli Manning led the Giants to a season opening victory against the Carolina Panthers at the New Meadowlands Stadium. Eli performed well in his first game, but Eli also threw 3 interceptions. In week one of the NFL season Eli Manning passed for 263 yards and his quarterback rating stood at 87.9 which places Eli Manning at 14th among NFL quarterbacks.

Eli vs. Peyton: Which Manning will win?
This week's Eli vs. Peyton match up in Indianapolis will probably be similar to the game the Manning brothers played in 2006. The teams still carry similar offensive schemes. If anything, the Giants concentrate even more on the run, and the Colts are still a passing team. The teams are closely matched on both sides of the lines and the score should be close once again, with both Manning brothers playing aggressively to not let the other get too far ahead.

You can count of Eli and Peyton's dad, Archie Manning, will be at the game to cheer them both on.
