Eli Young Brand Crazy Girl EP Review

The Eli Young Band is a Country music group that millions of fans discovered while performing for artists such as Miranda Lambert , Jack Ingram , and Pat Green. Their album Jet Black & Jealous featured four of the top Country music singles released in 2008. When It Rains , Always the Love Songs , Radio Waves and Guinevere helped the band to achieve critical acclaim along with an extensive amount of coverage on CMT. While the Jet Black & Jealous album peaked at number 5 on the Billboard Country charts, this is likely just a taste of things to come. In fact, their newest single Crazy Girl has already leaded the number 33 position of the Billboard Country singles charts. If that wasn't enough, the band landed the number 1 stop on the iTunes Country singles charts in less than fifteen hours. The newly released video is currently in rotation on TCN, GAC and CMT television stations. The band has been keeping busy and visiting radio stations across the country to promote their upcoming projects. A full-length album is slated for the fall while their EP hits stores in May.

In addition to Crazy Girl , the EP will feature four other tracks intended to hold fans over until the new albums hits store shelves. The magic captured on Jet Black & Jealous, has also been captured in the music featured on this CD. The lyrics on this album mostly discuss love and the wiliness to hold on despite struggles. Songs such as Even If It Breaks Your Heart and The Fight offer inspirational lyrics that will encourage fans to follow their dreams. The album is concluded with a track titled Life At Best , this is the perfect way to round out the album. The lyrics of this song do a great job of driving home the fact that life is hard. However, great Country music is intended to allow the listener to peak into the experiences of their favorite musicians. The concept of sharing pain through common experiences is something that many musicians struggle with. There is a difference between good and great bands; the greats have an ability to connect with the fans while providing them a voice. When fans listen to this CD, it will become clear that this band is great. The expression of love in such an eloquent way is something most people can only dream of. Overall, I enjoyed a majority of the music on this release just as much as the Crazy Girl single. I would rate the Crazy Girl EP a 4/5.
