Eliminate the Stress of Moving by Using ABF's UPack

Lisa Linthicum
Moving is a hassle. Moving cross country is immensely stressful. One way to make your move a lot less painful is to use ABF's UPack. (Check out http://www.upack.com)

The true beauty of Upack is that the driving of the truck is left to a professional ABF driver. There's nothing like driving a moving truck cross country, towing your car behind the truck with the "Check Engine" light popping on late at night. With UPack, you don't have to worry about any of that. You simply load your items in the trailer and then drive your own car to your new home. ABF will have its professional drivers transport the trailer with your household goods to your new home. And, it's extremely affordable! In fact, in most cases, utilizing UPack is cheaper than renting a truck, buying gas and driving it yourself. Sounds great, huh? It's also very simple to set up.

When you log onto the website, you will find lots of information about how the Upack service works. You enter information about the dates, your starting location, your destination and an estimate of how many items you will be moving. This helps determine the cost.of the move and how long it will take for your items to be transported to your new home. When you enter your information and request a quote, you are assigned a reference number.
You can use this reference number throughout your moving process to do a multitude of things - change move dates, change size of move, track your move, pay for your move, etc.

The people at ABF are very helpful whenever you call to ask questions or adjust your move. They provide any information that you ask for and email written documentation that ensures you have all the information you need for a smooth move.

When the day comes for the delivery of the trailer, a professional ABF driver will drop off the trailer at your home. It's important to make sure that you have enough space for the trailer. You have 3 business days to get the trailer loaded. Before beginning to load the trailer, it's important to mark off the space that was estimated you would use. This will help with any necessary price adjustments when the driver comes to pick up the trailer. (You are only charged for the space you use - so if you pack well and use less space than was planned, you will pay less than your estimate.)

Once the trailer is loaded, you call your local ABF depot to schedule the pick up of the trailer. Upon arrival, the driver will compare the space used to your estimate and the final cost will be determined. The cost will not change after this point. The driver then attaches a cab truck to the trailer and leaves with your items.

You can track the progress of your trailer by phone or by internet, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It's a neat feature to always know where your trailer is, and what time the next "event" (arrival or departure) is supposed to happen.

When your trailer is getting close to your new home, you are expected to call the local ABF depot to arrange a delivery date and time.

Then, the trailer is delivered and you once again have 3 business days to unload the trailer. When the trailer is unloaded, you simply call the local ABF depot again, and let them know that you are finished with the trailer. They will then send the driver to pick up the trailer.

And, that's it. Your items are now at your new home. Of course, it's up to you to do the lovely job of unpacking all of those boxes. But, at least ABF"s UPack takes away the stress of driving a gigantic, mechanically challenged moving truck!
