Elimination Station on Amazing Race

So you want to try out for a reality TV show but can't decide which one? I recommend the Amazing Race - let me tell you why. Once a team is eliminated from the Amazing Race, beginning on the very first leg, that team is sent to the Amazing Races' Elimination Station to await the finish of the race. Being eliminated early on the Amazing Race won't earn you a million dollars, but it could turn into a nice paid-for vacation. The downside is you have to spend said vacation with people you just recently met and barley know.

CBS and other reality networks do not allow eliminated contestants to go straight home to protect the integrity and outcome of the game; show results are guarded with confidentiality contracts. After all, would you watch if you knew who the winner is going to be?

Eliminated teams from the Amazing Race get what amounts to a free paid vacation, usually in another part of the world. Teams are allowed act like the tourists they now are and take in some of the local culture. While at Elimination Station, teams will be followed by cameras documenting their stay. The film crew follows the eliminated team into Elimination Station, and then films the eliminated group sporadically, usually when they are all together for meals, away on a field trip or just hanging out talking about who they think will be the next team to join them at Elimination Station. These behind-the-scenes clips from Elimination Station can only be viewed through webisodes on the Amazing Race website.

The Amazing Races' Elimination Station debuted in 2007 during the 11th season of the Amazing Race featuring an All-Stars competition.

The Amazing Races' Elimination Stations have been located in:

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico 2010 (Season 16)
Phu Quoc, Vietnam 2009 (Season 15)
Ko Samui, Thailand 2009 (Season 14)
Acapulco, Mexico 2008 (Season 13)
Vivenda Do Lago, Portugal 2007-08 (Season 12)
Acapulco, Mexico 2007 (Season 11)

The Amazing Race airs on Sunday nights at 8:00pm on CBS. A new Elimination Station is posted on the Amazing Race website immediately after the conclusion of the west coast feed.

Interesting perspective: even if eliminated, you could have a free vacation!
