Eliot Spitzer on CNN -- Will the Public Watch a Former Trick?

It's in the Past?

Eliot Spitzer on CNN is soon to be a reality. The 51-year-old former governor will appear with columnist Kathleen Parker in a round-table discussion program called Parker Spitzer as reported at People. Eliot Spitzer left his job as governor of New York due to his admission that he was a client of high priced prostitutes, including prostitute Ashley Dupré.

Can you forget the fact that Eliot Spitzer on CNN was Client 9?

Back in March of 2008 Emperors Club VIP, an escort agency, was shut down when it was revealed it was a prostitution agency, due to revelations that then New York governor Eliot Spitzer was transferring money to the agency for sexual encounters.

It was revealed in an affidavit that Spitzer was known as Client 9. "Kristen," who was revealed as prostitute Ashley Dupré, was one of Spitzer's prostitutes and the one that essentially brought him down. Not only was Spitzer revealed as being a client of Emperors Club VIP, but rumors surfaced that he liked his sex on the kinky side. As reported at The Smoking Gun, "Additionally, the affidavit notes that after her appointment with Client 9 ended, 'Kristen' spoke with a Emperors Club booker, who said that she had been told that Client 9 'would ask you to do things that, like, you might not think were safe...' 'Kristen' responded by saying, essentially, that she could handle guys like that." An article in the N Y Daily News said Spitzer liked to pretend he was choking his prostitutes.

It's in the past. But is it, really? Can you look at Eliot Spitzer on CNN and see a television journalist or will you look at Spitzer and try to block out the fact that he was a frequent visitor of prostitutes and who may of liked kinky sex with them, to top it all off?

Eliot Spitzer on CNN deserves a second chance?

Spitzer made a mockery of the governor's office, cheated on his wife and disappointed his fans. However, it was ruled that he did not take public money or campaign funds to pay for prostitutes. He paid no fines. He did not do jail time.

But does he deserve a chance to move on with his life? Eliot Spitzer says his wife Silda is "more forgiving than anybody should have been." If his wife can forgive, perhaps that's all that matters?
