ABC conducted a pre-return interview with Hasselbeck in which they talked about motherhood, life away from The View, and her return to the Emmy Award winning morning talk show.
Surprisingly, Amy Hasselbeck told ABC that she did not watch The View during her maternity leave. She blames her busy schedule filled with motherhood, moving, and the holidays. According to Hasselbeck, the only T.V. she managed to squeeze in was three football games.
Hasselbeck said she didn't even have time to follow pop culture reading magazines, tabloids, or even the newspaper. She said her reading was limited to children's books. Her focus was on her family, welcoming Taylor and making sure that Grace "felt loved."
Elisabeth's husband, Tim, is quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals. Immediately after Elisabeth began maternity leave, the family moved to Arizona. Hasselbeck seemed pleased that son, Taylor, was born in Arizona. In Hasselbeck's comparison of Arizona to New York, one can conclude that she enjoyed the open sky and natural vistas. On the other hand, she did say she enjoyed being back in New York.
I'm sure Hasselbeck will be caught up for Monday's show. In addition to welcoming her back to the show and introducing Taylor Thomas to viewers, Monday is slated to be filled with all "hot" topics. It should be an exciting show with Hasselbeck back to counter liberal views with her staunch conservatism.
The famous row between Elisabeth and Rosie lingers in the minds of viewers. Among the last images we have of Elisabeth was watching her demure façade fall as she went head to head with Rosie O'Donell over political issues. Many thought Elisabeth would be eaten alive. Some still discount her ability as a talk show host. During those days, however, Hasselbeck held her own on The View. Viewer expectations may be higher as a result of her last days prior to maternity leave.
It will be interesting to watch Hasselbeck return to the show and note any changes in demeanor, attitude, or presentation. Did a little time away mellow her? Did it allow her time to reflect on her role and future career as influenced by her performance on the show? Monday should be an interesting show and give us a glimpse at what to expect from Elisabeth now that she has returned.
Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepard joined The View shortly before Elisabeth Hasselbeck left on maternity leave. Viewers don't have a sense of what direction the show will take with the current mix of personalities in addition to Elisabeth Hasselbeck.
The View airs on ABC, live from New York City, at 11 am EST. Monday's show includes the return of Elisabeth Hasselbeck, "Hot" topics, and, according to ABC, a big giveaway.

Post a CommentI think when Babara Walters is on the show it is too many people. The best people on the show is Whoopi, Joy and Sherrie. They need to get rid of Barbar Walters or give Barbara Walters Elizabeth Hasselback spot.
Hey Trudy. Totally agree. I hate the woman. She's annoying and whiny. She can't even speak without sounding whiny. I feel sorry for her husband who has to hear her speak. I can only imagine what she's like behind closed doors. If she's bitchy on tv, she's probably a horror off camera.
Glitter Glasses what's his face? Go light a bowl of incense? Rudely belittling Deepak Chopra? What the HELL? Come on ABC. It's not even fun or funny. Get rid of this ignorant annoying bitch. Her apology on air today doesn't make up for her motor mouth. Sure it's America and we are all entitled to an opinion but being down right stupid is unacceptable. I really am done with the View for sure. I can't stand even looking at that arrogant idiot and the bubble she lives in. I am sure that ABC can find an intelligent republican conservative to replace miss priss. Someone that can actually speak intelligently about a subject. I love the rest of the gals on the View and will miss them but I refuse to help the ratings until ABC gets rid of Elizabeth.
When will they get rid of Elisabeth, or at least put some tape over her BIG mouth. I turn off the TV as soon as she starts talking. She's so annoying. She's a good cure for TV addicts. We stop watching as soon as she opens her mouth.
the program is great to watch the view and the stars
wants say view is nice program to watch
I need to address today's program about the VP debate. Again, Whoopi had to quiet Elisabeth along with Barbara and Sherrie. She is turning into a prejudiced ,obnoxious host. If they don't do something with her attitude against the Democratic Presidential candidate this program will lose all of it's viewers except for the Republicans. It is one thing to have an opinion but to degrade Obama and voice innuendos and not fact should open her up to a law suit. She does not have the right to accuse Obama of being a terrorist to benefit her party, when is ABC going to see this and get rid of her. It's one thing to discuss one's view but to act like a vindictive party supporter on the air when millions of people watch and if she continues with the voice, and someone who is half baked takes her literally and goes after Obama thinking she is telling the truth????? Just imagine what could happen and I think the Obama campaign should bring her comments up and hold her responsible for her voice
I think Elisabeth Hasselbeck is just fine and I am so very tired of the racism going on and Joy's mouth. Why doesn't Barbara Walters repremand Joy? And Whoppie, come on, I thought she was born in the USA. What is this African American anyway? I have never witnessed such racism as on the View. By the way, the children are not running for office, their parents are, so why not keep it that way and keep your comments to yourself? I have watched the view for the last time. I really feel bad, but today was enough for me.
Someone, PLEASE, PLEASE tone down that horrible voice of that blonde, Elisabeth, first her voice just grates on the ear drum. Again she gets the nerve of another co-host Joy. She really needs to be gone, send her to a show that caters to teens. She is not adult enough to hang on a Show such as the View. Get her off.

I tried to send this before, but I don't think it went through. Two important comments/questions.
1. My hubby has worked for Fed. Gvt. over 5 years. He was tested before he could get the job, and is tested regularly since. Is our President EVER tested on ANYTHING ???
2. I think all the candidates should be required to list (1.,2.,3., etc.) all their views and jobs they intend to do for our Country. Beside each of these they should tell how they intend to make it come about eg. manpower, monies, etc.
3. They should be checked out 1.,2.,3., regularly to see what if anything they have accomplished. It seems to me we as a country have no expectations of our Presidents...this way there will/can be no "I didn't say this or that, etc"
4. Have we ever had a bald President?
