Elite 8 NCAA 2010 March Madness: Two #1 Seeds Left in the Bracket

Biggest NCAA Upsets 2010

Ranee Wright
College basketball is the only sport I enjoy watching, particularly during March Madness. There have already been huge upsets in the thrilling NCAA 2010 tournament. Which teams remain on the road to the Elite 8 in the NCAA 2010 tournament? Kentucky will play in the Elite 8, will Duke? A long-time Duke fan, I hope so, but you never know in this sport!

During the sweet 16, (5 seed) Butler upset Syracuse (1 seed) - another big NCAA upset of March Madness 2010! Xavier (6 seed) went into DOUBLE-overtime with Kansas State (2 seed). WHAT AN INTENSE GAME! It was a nail biter - even better than the (1 seed) Kansas and (9 seed) Northern Iowa game. Kansas State eventually won the game against Xavier.

On the road to the NCAA 2010 Elite 8 (NOTE: # represents 'seed' and all times are Eastern Standard):

South bracket (Houston): Friday, March 26

#3 Baylor (27-7) versus #10 St. Mary's (28-5) - tip time is at 7:27 p.m.
#1 Duke (31-5) plays #4 Purdue (29-5) - begins at approximately 10:00 p.m.

Midwest bracket (St. Louis): Friday, March 26

#2 Ohio State (29-7) versus #6 Tennessee (27-8) - tip time is 7:07 p.m.
#5 Michigan State (26-8) plays #9 Northern Iowa (30-4) - begins at approximately 9:37 p.m.

Elite 8 NCAA 2010 bracket Saturday, March 27 and Sunday, March 28 (Also known as Regional Finals, times to be announced):

West bracket:March 27

#5 Butler v. #2 Kansas State

East bracket:March 27

#1 Kentucky v. #2 West Virginia

Midwest bracket:March 28

The #9 University of Northern Iowa plays # 5 Michigan State and the winner plays the champions of the #6 Tennessee versus #2 Ohio State game.

South bracket:March 28

#1 Duke plays #4 Purdue and the winner will play the champion of #3 Baylor versus #10 St. Mary's.

Final Four (Indianapolis): Saturday, April 3.

The winner of the West bracket (game plays March 27) will play the Midwest winner (game plays March 28). The East bracket winner (game plays March 27) will play the South bracket winner (game plays March 28).

Will Butler beat Kansas State to meet Ohio State or Tennessee, Michigan State or UNI? Will Kentucky go all the way, conquering West Virginia to meet Baylor or St. Mary's, Duke or Purdue?

NCAA 2010 Championship Game: Monday, April 5

I cannot wait to see more great March Madness games and big upsets. Which teams have you picked to meet at the NCAA 2010 Championship that tips off April 5, in Indianapolis? My pick is my favorite team to watch that has won many tournaments under Mike Krzyzewski - DUKE. My next favorite coach is Tom Izzo, so I would enjoy watching Duke play Michigan State.
