Elizabeth Ann Kommes Gets in 'TROUBLE' with DUI, Bribery and Offering Sexual Favors

JR Moreau
In Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, Elizabeth Ann Kommes, a resident of Michigan, was pulled over for suspicion of drunk driving. The officers watched Kommes stumble to her car sporting a vanity plate stating, "TROUBLE." Kommes was pulled over shortly after getting in the car and pulling away. Elizabeth Ann Kommes admitted to driving while intoxicated and proceeded to plead with the officers not to arrest her. Officers stated that Elizabeth Ann Kommes offered to perform sexual favors as well as $10,000 to let her go. The offices declined her proposal and Elizabeth Ann Kommes was taken downtown and booked.

It is not uncommon to see police officers throughout America's highways and roads patrolling for dangerous drivers. While driving drunk is absolutely one of the worst things anyone could do in a car, offering bribery and lude acts to avoid traffic fines is almost as bad of an idea. Here are five tips that I have found useful in convincing authority figures to let you go after a traffic stop (baring the situation where you are pulled over drunk; in which case you deserve whatever you get).

1. Elizabeth Ann Kommes was from Michigan, far far away from home. Driving under the influence is never okay, but you're far more likely to get bagged for such an offense while driving out of state in a small town. Don't speed, don't drive recklessly and never ever drive drunk when you're in unfamiliar territory.

2. Police are human beings in positions of authority. Speaking to them with disdain or disrespect is likely to get little sympathy and whatever you were doing wrong upon getting pulled over will probably be harped on even more. Realize that in that limited amount of time that you are pulled over, your destiny is ultimately out of your control and in the subjective opinion of the officer.

3. The idea that some cops can be swayed with bribery is more than often just false. Elizabeth Ann Kommes landed herself a two charges in excess of what she was already up against by trying to persuade the police officers with money and a good time. Keep a dry, respectful and honest atmosphere while being pulled over and don't assume you can offer the cops something that would be worth them losing their jobs.

4. If you've been pulled over and you're convinced that you haven't done anything wrong, let the officer speak and tell you why you've been pulled over before you start to lecture her or him about how they are wrong. There is a chance that you may not have been aware at all about something you were doing wrong and understanding the officer's perspective is important to dealing with why he had a problem with your driving.

5. Name dropping doesn't work well. Elizabeth Ann Kommes was probably too far from home to know anybody who could help her. Even if she knew someone, it's likely not going to help her get off of a drunk driving charge and it will likely just embarrass the officer who's name she brings up.

Dealing with a situation calmly and responsibly is the best way to navigate through annoyed and alarmed police officers. Elizabeth Ann Kommes should have some time now while walking without her license to contemplate how to drive good and sober next time she's allowed to.

i have often been let go....just being nice and treating them with respect goes along ways to maybe just getting a warning for speeding.
