Elizabeth Johnson Cruel Message; McQueary Turns Down Tammi Smith Offer of Apology

Update- Public Bank Account Set Up to Raise Reward

"U will never see Gabriel again. I made sure of that. And u can spend the rest of ur pathetic life wondering about him. U will never find me im already bording a plane. Out of the country. When im safe ill email u the exact location of dead gabriels little blue body. if the garbage don't come first. This is what liars like u deserve."

This is an unedited cell-phone text message typed out just as the mother of missing Baby Gabriel, Elizabeth Johnson, wrote and sent to Baby Gabriel's father, Logan McQueary, on December 27, 2009- the day after Baby Gabriel was last seen, with Johnson, in San Antonio Texas before vanishing.

The first three sentences of the message strongly implies Baby Gabriel is dead and states that McQueary will always wonder about his baby. The rest of the message states that Baby Gabriel is dead and in contradictory fashion tells McQueary not only what happened to Baby Gabriel- that she, Johnson, killed him- but also where to find the body.

TEMPE Arizona; January 27. Yet, Logan McQueary is holding onto the hope that Baby Gabriel is alive- if missing Baby Gabriel is alive, he will turn nine months old on February 3. And he is about to take action. Tired of searching the Internet and hoping the phone will ring with new information that will lead to finding his infant son, McQueary is going to go out and actively search for Baby Gabriel on the road. He told CBS5, "It's been long enough. I just need to get out there and do something."

The CBS5 interview took place in the parking lot of a shopping mall. McQueary was buying supplies for a road trip that will follow the kidnapping trail that Johnson took with Baby Gabriel from Tempe Arizona to San Antonio Texas. The GPS unit that was recovered from Johnson's abandoned vehicle will give McQueary the exact route. McQueary said, "If she would have left Friday night, I don't think she would have driven all through the night, especially not with Gabriel." He hopes to find someone along the way who has seen Baby Gabriel. "I'm just trying to keep it alive... and I'll keep giving out flyers," said McQueary. He's 'just praying and hoping that he's still alive'.

Update Jan. 27, 2010. A Gabriel Johnson trust account is set up at Bank of America. People can stop in at any branch and donate to: The Gabriel Johnson Trust / Bank of America / Account #457015122018. Or mail a donation to: The Gabriel Johnson Trust / Bank of America / 1030 Willow Creek Rd. / Prescott, AZ 86301. The money will go toward raising the reward and toward helping fund Logan McQueary's trip across country. The Tempe police have recruited McQueary's help in building their case of conspiracy to commit custodial interference against Tammi Smith and Elizabeth Johnson. McQueary met with Tempe police yesterday and handed over all recorded conversations and text messages that he has had with Johnson and with 'persons of interest' Jack and Tammi Smith, who had once hoped to adopt Baby Gabriel. The police have made copies of all data that McQueary gave them.

Tammi Smith, who has criticized McQueary, has offered a public apology to him. McQueary turned down her offer. He said that after the phone call from ex-girlfriend Johnson (in Estrella Jail) to Tammi Smith, he believes Smith was really pulling the strings. "Tammi kind of said, 'you'd better watch your mouth'... 'be careful what you said', and maybe she said that for a reason," said McQueary.

Why did Elizabeth Johnson plead "not guilty" to charges of kidnapping? When she was asked in her interview why she did not bring her baby to a safe haven she said she didn't want to be charged with kidnapping. Anyway, thanks for providing a way to support this dad.

At least this dad seems to be doing good, working with the police and helping as much as he can. I can't imagine how hard those circumstances would be.
