Elizabeth Lambert's Dirty Videos Heat Up Internet

You Thought Soccer was a No-Contact Sport? it is for New Mexico's Elizabeth Lambert

Elizabeth Lambert, Elizabeth Lambert, hmmm... There are videos and pictures of Elizabeth Lambert burning up the internet, but why? She must be related to Miranda Lambert or Adam Lambert to be so high in the Google trend rankings... Right? No? Well, then Elizabeth Lambert must be a serial killer or baby snatcher? No and no? Tim Tebow's new girlfriend? A beautiful up-and-coming supermodel baring it all for PETA or Playboy? No, no, no? Okay, so Elizabeth Lambert must be another sex tape video exhibitionist about to become famous and get her own reality show. No? Then who in the world is Elizabeth Lambert and why are her videos and pictures scorching the world wide web?

Elizabeth Lambert is a college soccer player. She is a defender for the New Mexico Lobos. Her most recent video has taken over the internet because Elizabeth Lambert is what most people would call "dirty." Not in pull-off-my-jersey-in-victory "dirty" or she's-in-Playboy's-Girls of Soccer-issue "dirty, but hitting and cheap-shot dirty. You know... what dirty was before dirty became the dirty of bare skin and after having actual earth on that skin. Mean and underhanded. Dirty.

Of particular interest to those who like to watch dirty videos, like the video posted on Busted Coverage, is some outtakes from Elizabeth Lambert's last game of the year against #17 Brigham Young. She slams, hits, and pulls hair to get a New Mexico win -- only New Mexico lost and their season is over.

But Elizabeth Lambert's season isn't over, not by a cheap shot. The videos circulating around the internet of her hitting an unsuspecting Brigham Young player in the back, slamming into another Brigham Young player, and pulling the hair of yet another is extending her season. In fact, it is the hair-pulling video that seems to show Elizabeth Lambert at her best worst. The Brigham Young player had no idea how quickly someone could force you to the ground with just a tug on your ponytail. Now, that's dirty.

And Elizabeth Lambert will return. She's just a junior at New Mexico.

But shouldn't something be done about this, one might ask? Of course. Infractions are to be caught and dealt with during play but when they are not and they are as flagrant as those performed by Elizabeth Lambert, something should be done to curtail her "enthusiasm." Although some rough play is acceptable in the course of a soccer game, it is basically a non-contact sport. What Elizabeth Lambert was caught doing on video is objectionable and should be met with disciplinary action. After all the publicity her "dirty" videos and pictures are gaining on the internet, her head coach and the NCAA might invoke some sort of disciplinary procedures against her.

Of course, she could be suspended for the entire season next year (like LeGarrette Blount of Oregon, who sucker-punched Boise State's Byron Hout after Oregon's loss in the college football season opener) or for just a game (like Brandon Spikes of Florida, who was caught on video flagrantly attempted to gouge the eyes of Georgia running back Washaun Ealey). Although one seems to be a bit drastic and the other not nearly drastic enough (and both disciplinary measures were accepted by the players' respective conferences and the NCAA), something was done. Considering all the picture and video evidence, something will most likely be done about Elizabeth Lambert's brand of soccer as well.

But if not, she's on everybody's radar. She's soccer's "dirty" girl. Not only will she be watched by her opponents, but by officials and fans. People do love their dirt.

Now the only way Elizabeth Lambert can become more famous is for her to kill someone or take her clothes off. Or become Tim Tebow's girlfriend.

lol. the refs really suck in my area too. it's sort of a downer that they can't even find a decent one for such a big game. i mean, it's become a given that we'll have some pretty murderous calls in the course of a game (i have been playing for 12 years), but this is just...ugh. there needs to be some better way to make these calls that need to be called (or, in many cases, to not make the calls): to prevent violence AND to make sure the game is a fair game. There's too much bias in reffing a soccer game. something's got to change. :)

Just seen the video on the "O'Reilley Factor" and quite frankly, her actions pissed me off. Even in far more aggressive sports (ie: football, boxing, hockey) yanking an opposing player down to the ground by their hair the way this idiot did would still be considered cheap, dirty, and an action worthy of suspension. But this was soccer. She should be banned from the sport altogether.

Disgusting! Absolutely Disgusting. Elizabeth should be kicked off the team and the coach suspended!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the field or off%2C intentional physical contact intended to cause injury is battery and should be investigated as a criminal matter. The coach is also culpable.

Consider that if this happened anywhere but on a sports field, she would be facing battery charges.

This just in, her coach suspended her indefinitely. That is as big a cop out as I have ever heard of. If the coach thought the player was out of control, why didn't she take the player out of the game? Now it looks like the coach is just trying to put all the blame on the player, and ignore the fact that she could have put a stop to it any time she chose to. That's just bush league, and even worse than my prediction below that the coach might complain about unwarranted press or something.

Yes, it's a contact sport, but the ponytail pull in particular was disgraceful - as was the refereeing. She should have been sent off before she even got that far, and the hair pull was clear "violent conduct". Here in England she'd be looking at both a red card and a substantial ban, perhaps also an FA charge.

I just saw some clips on TV. Seems to me that the BYU girl who got punched had just elbowed Lambert in the sternum and the one whose hair got pulled had her fingers under Lambert's shorts.

I hear the WWE is interested in her.

Saul, just so you know, competitive soccer, beyond youth level, is actually considered a contact sport. Obviously it's not football (American) or hockey, but it is not a non-contact sport.
That said, some (though not all) of the clips from this game are beyond the pale. I'm curious about what we hear from the university or coach though. I'd bet we'll hear complaints about the coverage as unfairly singling out an innocent, young girl, but in reality, it's basically her being covered like a men's D1 football or basketball player would be, or any other clip that comes out of an athlete doing something noteworthy, like a 9 year old hockey player scoring with a fancy move.
