Ellen Pompeo, Chris Ivery Wed

It seems yet another blissful couple of Hollywood decided to tie the knot of Holy Matrimony. Ellen Pompeo, 38 and Chris Ivery, a year older, were married in New York City on Friday, November 9, 2007. Pompeo and Ivery had been engaged almost a year to the day, exactly, of the ceremony.

Pompeo, the star that plays Dr. Meredith Grey on an ABC hit medical drama and Ivery, a Record Producer, had dated for several years before becoming engaged and now officially married. Although it was readily rumored the couple might be married in Italy when their engagement was announced, they opted for a quiet ceremony at New York's City Hall. The Mayor of New York City, Micheal Bloomberg, served as a witness at the wedding.

Even though the couple seemed destined to wed, with their down to earth congeniality, outstanding good-looks and the 3.5-carat, emerald-cut diamond and platinum engagement ring Ivery gave Pompeo, could there have been some second thoughts on Pompeo's part about a commitment? From many reports, this very well might have been.

Looking at the surface, it is apparent from public facts, that both grew up in the Boston, Massachusetts area, only 10 miles apart. It has been quoted many times that Ellen has said she had to go 3,000 miles away to meet a guy who practically grew up next door, but she guessed everything comes a full circle. Her husband, Chris has touted that he knew Ellen's father, when he lived in the Boston area. It sounds almost too good to be true.

Recently, some little known facts about Chris Ivery have come to the public's attention that would give us some insight on who he is and a little about his background. Ivery had spent 14 months in federal prison in the mid-1990s after pleading guilty to credit card fraud and postal theft. This conviction might seem a bit daunting on a relationship. A finance' that has spent time in prison might be something to ponder.

It turns out that court records have unveiled that Chris Ivery not only had the above-mentioned conviction, but other past convictions. Actually thirteen convictions in Massachusetts are on record. These include several convictions for dealing marijuana and cocaine. All in all, Ivery has served three substantial terms in jail.

Marriage is always a proposition that one should not enter into lightly. It would seem that the couple, Ellen Pompeo and Chris Ivery, have spent enough time together during their courtship and engagement to make the right decision. Only time will tell what the ending to their fairytale relationship together will be.
