Elliott Yamin: Will Another American Idol Graduate Hit the Charts?

Nikki McKibbin, Kimberly Locke, Jasmine Trias, Vonzell Solomon. What do they have in common with Elliott Yamin? They all took the 3rd place slot in the American Idol.

For most fans who have been following this huge reality show, Elliott Yamin is that sweet-looking fellow who started like an uncertain and lost soul. Chosen to be one of the top 12 of Season 5 of the contest, he slowly took an evolve into a confident gentleman. As weeks went by, Simon Cowell commended him for showing character and presence. He started to own the stage.

A native of Richmond, Virginia, Elliott had a story that melted many hearts. His short segments on the show allowed him to tell America the kind of person that he was. He became open about his being 90% deaf in one ear. He was diagnosed as diabetic when he was in his teens. He had a normal childhood, but he had his issues, especially since his parents went through a divorce, and that he had to manage a difficult health condition.

He admitted that school was not really his favorite place, and that life back in Virginia was never easy for him because of a difficulty to stay long in the jobs that he took.

America equally loved his devoted mama. It could have added to Elliott's fan base. But to his fans and followers, he was already endearing because of his soulful voice and warm personality.

Other than the last two contestants--Katharine McPhee and Taylor Hicks--who fought during the finale, another Season 5 alumnus Chris Daughtry had released a recording album, last 2006. His album has actually made more sales than Taylor Hicks, the winner during this particular season. Daughtry's single "It's Not Over" has even reached the number 3 spot on the US Pop Charts.

Before the end of the month, it is Elliott Yamin's turn to officially release his album. Is this going to be a hit? Or will Elliott going to be forgotten after the other hopefuls who could truly sing but were drown by the presence of too many artists in the business?

Let's wait and see...
