Elma, Washington Woman Sees UFO's

I'll admit when I was younger I had a hard time believing in UFO's and aliens. In the 1990s, I became a believer after witnessing things in the night sky that couldn't be explained away, and today I follow sightings and read up on anything I can about UFO's, aliens and Exopolitics. When I made a call on a forum I belong to for member stories, I was surprised at the number of people who contacted me, wanting to get their stories to be told.

The following story is that of Edith Russell who, since May 2007, has been going outside to sky watch. Though she searched the skies, she didn't know what she was looking for. She describes this period as being her "novice months".

May 2007:

On her first night of watching and searching western sky just before sundown at her Elma, Washington home, she saw a large light in the sky. She describes the light as being unlike any of the stars in the sky. As she looked through her binoculars, she saw the object flashing brilliant colors of red, violet, green, and white. She was excited about what she was witnessing. About an hour later, the object had changed its position.

For the next few nights, Edith says she visualized the same light in the same place. The light remained every night for the remainder of the summer and Fall.

April 2009:

In April 2009, Edith noticed the light in the west wasn't alone. To her amazement, the little valley she lives in was surrounded by new lights. Looking through her binoculars, she saw they were all pulsing "glorious colors" and were much smaller than the first light was saw in 2007.

As Edith was looking to the south through a stand of trees in May 2009, she saw a huge golden light through the tree braches. Looking at the light with her naked eyes, she realized the light was changing colors and it appeared to be flying in amongst the tree branches but it wasn't. She noticed it was on the other side of the trees moving through the sky.

"I was freaking out," Edith said. "I could actually see this light moving through the sky and the branches would at times completely block it from my sight, but then it would slowly emerge again to one side or the other of the branches!"

She says the object moved very slowly, as if it was attempting to go undetected. The light is described as being really bright, "As bright as the landing lights on a jumbo jet."

The light continued to appear about midway up the trunk of the trees and could be seen gliding upwards, backwards, and forward again -- it did this as it slowly made its way up to the three other pulsating lights that appeared to be stationary in the southern sky.

Over the course of the next few weeks, Edith says the light seemed to start and stop on the same trajectory until June 6. That night, the moon was full and came up in the southeast.

"It [the light] just all at once appeared just above the tree tops and as the moon rose, it did too."

June 2009:

On the night of June 15, Edith went outside at around 9:45 p.m. and immediately saw of the "light ships" she had been seeing for several weeks. Her "guardian craft" showed up right above her head. After about twenty minutes, the craft moved in closer to a second craft.

As time passed, three more ships with pulsing colors moved in behind her to the west. As she looked at the golden colored ship, pulsing brilliant colors to the south, she looked up to the north where she saw a huge bright light that she describes as looking like a super white spot light shining off of it. It looked as if it was coming in really low, straight down.

"As soon as I looked at it, it seemed to sense I saw it and zoomed like a flash straight up," Edith said that when this happened, she yelled at it to come back but it was gone.

Later, she saw a huge white blinking light that came from the west and was moving east. It was fairly low in the sky and at first, she thought it was a big plane; however, there was no noise and no other colored blinking lights like an airplane has. The object was to her right, or to her south, and was close. She watched the object until it disappeared.

The May 2007 incident was reported to MUFON and, after one sighting this past summer, checked the MUFON website and was excited to see that three other people had reported seeing the same thing she had.

Edith tells me that she doesn't feel any fear where these objects are concerned, but what she does feel is love and a sense of peace as she watches these lights in the night sky. She gets the feeling that these beings are here to watch over us - more specifically, that they are here to make sure mankind doesn't obliterate ourselves.
