You are probably a little skeptical about this idea, just as I was when I first heard about it. I decided to give it a shot, though, and now I'm hooked. I really do believe that my skin looks clearer than it ever has before.
The reason I decided to try this was because of the inexpensive price tag on a bottle of glue. Face masks can be expensive, and since I was never truly happy with the results I was getting from them I felt like I was wasting money. Elmer's glue, however, is very cheap. Especially now that it is back to school time, you will be able to find it on sale in many stores for about 20 cents a bottle. Worth a shot, right?
First of all, you will need to wash your face and dry it. If you don't do this, the glue will not stick to the oily parts of your face and you will end up with a patchy mask. Then, spread the glue over your face. Make sure you use a thick enough layer so that it will peel off in big pieces. Otherwise, you will be picking little patches of glue off your face for awhile and that's just annoying. And, obviously, keep it away from your eyes and mouth so you don't end up gluing them shut! I find that the glue dries in about 10 to 15 minutes and is then ready to peel off. After this, I wash my face again to make sure all of the glue is gone and then apply lotion because it can be a little drying.
I recommend that you only try this with Elmer's glue because it is non-toxic and widely used by children. I have never tried it with another kind of glue and do not know what interactions the chemicals would have with your skin.
There are plenty of reasons to use products designed for use on your face instead of Elmer's glue, but if you like to try new things and are looking to save some money try this out. I have found that my skin is much brighter (due to the glue removing dirt and blackheads) and softer because it exfoliates as well.
