Leitner started her business in a kitchen space rented in South San Francisco before her recent move to Mountain View. She has been baking all her life, graduating from the Professional Culinary Institute in Campbell, baking and pastry program. Maralyn Tabatsky of "Have Your Cake", a kosher kitchen in South San Francisco, greatly influenced Leitner during her internship under Tabatsky's expert teaching.
Leitner and business partner Sandy Mayer bought a spot in an office plaza out by Moffet Field, working for over a year to meet the stringent specs for a kosher baking kitchen. All of her spectacular creations are custom made to order.
"The Eloquent Oven's specialties are expertly decorated wedding and specialty cakes and European pastries and confections. You can buy a chocolate chip cookies anywhere, but European cakes are harder to find," said Leitner. Her signature masterpieces are her Gateau Basque, an almond pound cake with pastry cream baked inside (available as pareve or dairy version) and Opera Cake, layered with marzipan.
