Elvis Presley's 75th Birthday Proclamation Ceremony will be held at Graceland, on January 8, 2010. The celebration is scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m. CST. In honor of what would be The King of Rock'n'Roll's 75th birthday, Memphis and Shelby County officials will be declaring this date Elvis Presley Day. This is in honor of Elvis' contributions to the world of music and to the city of Memphis.

The ceremony is to stream live from Elvis.com's Elvis Cam. Fans who would like to watch Elvis' 75th birthday live broadcast will have to use Microsoft's Silverlight. If you already have Silverlight, you should automatically be able to see the live show. For those who don't have the program, the ElvisCam site has a link to get it.

Elvis' 75th Birthday Proclamation Ceremony is to feature his wife Priscilla Presley, daughter Lisa Marie and other Graceland/EPE representatives as special guests. There will also be a birthday cake cutting, in honor of The King.

The event was to take place on the front lawn of Graceland, but bad weather has moved the party indoors. It will now take place in the Graceland Plaza.

According to MovieTome.com, Elvis Aaron Presley was born on January 8, 1935. The truck driver and future star's first single was "That's All Right Mama". It wasn't until 1956, when Elvis recorded "Heartbreak Hotel", that he had his first Billboard #1 Top Pop Single. His illustrious career continued with gold, platinum or multi-platinum awards for 150 singles ad albums. Elvis received Grammys in 1968, 1973 and 1975.

Elvis Presley was found dead on his bathroom floor on August 16, 1977. MovieTome states that a heart attack was ruled the main cause of death. Elvis' home, Graceland, was opened to the public after his death. His remains are also located on the site.

Elvis Presley's charities, a portion of the reason he is still remembered on what would be he 75th birthday, are many. They include The Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation, the Elvis Presley Endowed Scholarship Fund and the non-profit organization Little Kids Rock.
